Guest guest
Hi All, For all those of you familar with Periactin: I just picked up the periactin syrup for my daughter today. The label reads as " cyprohetadine 2mg/5ml " . The doctor wants us to give her 1 teaspoon, twice a day. (He said to first start her with a half teaspoon and work our way up to the1 teaspoon dosage.) He had said that I could mix it with juice or food if I wanted. ( It smells like a weak peppermint, I am not sure how that will work.) Does this all sound right,(the dosage and the name of the syrup that is)? The pharmacy only carries the generic version of the syrup. The other question I have is, when do you give it? I plan on giving it to her in the morning at around 7:30 am and than again at 6 PM. Hopefully, it will have time to work on her before breakfast and before supper. Are the timings o.k. ? How long does it take before the periactin kicks in, and they get hungry? Thanks, Ann Rajan. Guest guest
Hi Ann, Our son is on Periactin. We give it to him 3 times a day, an hour to an hour and a half before a meal. We have found that it seems to be best then. gets 11.5 ml per day. He get 3.5 ml before breakfast, 4 ml before lunch and 4 ml before dinner. When we started, we started at 1/4 dose for a week and worked up to full dose in a month. 's is also a very sweet syrup that he likes and sometimes asks for more. He was craky and tired for about a couple of weeks when we started but that went away. I hope this helps Ken M Re: Periactin and GHT / > > > > >> How do you get the little buggers to take it >> without torturing them???!!! > >Do you use liquid or crushed tablets? > >> >> One more questions!
