That's a good thought about the fruits...............she just looks kind of

sickly. We just got back from OT and her therapist says " Abby's looking

awfully thin! " Well of course I am so worried. She has been on a two week

break from school and when she goes back I hope they don't think I'm

starving her. Can anyone ask Elaine about weight loss because I am worried.

Abby doesn't have diarrhea so the healing is not making her gain like I've

read. Thanks,

Kathy

dark circles

> Everyday is a new challenge! Abby has had some really intense dark

circles under her eyes since yesterday...............her eyes look tired. I

asked her through her Pecs book today if she felt sick. She pointed to no,

then said " tired " . She doesn't look good. I guess I am worrying too much

about her lack of food intake. Since I stopped the banana and pineapple

yesterday I feel like there just aren't many options. She is eating what I

give her and sleeping a lot too. For lunch she just had pearsauce, hot

dogs(they don't bother her), veggie pancakes with peanut butter and

lemonade. She ate it all. I am just wondering if these dark circles are

normal at first. This is the worst I have ever seen them. She also has

only gone #2 twice in the last week. Some days I just want to give it up

and some days I feel this is the one of the best decisions I have ever made.

I worry a lot because she is basically non-verbal except one or two words

together and I just don't know what's!

> going on most of the time except through her behaviors. Anyone else

experiencing this tiredness and dark circles under the eyes? It's only been

about 4 1/2 weeks for us on the SCD. Thanks,

Thank you............I hadn't thought about seasonal allergies but my eyes

are really burning and am having headaches so I know it must be affecting

her too. I will get some claritin and try that. I use flonase on her but she

hates the spray up her nose so I can't always get it in her on a regular

basis.

Hi Kathy,

Did she have any bloating before the diet. That can make it look like she's

lost more than she has if her belly is flat now.

It took me a while to stabilize before I started to put on weight. I had 50

lbs to put back on to get to my weight for my height. It took a lot of

eating because my body was working hard at repairing damage while still

maintaining normal day to day activities.

Can you give her more frquent small meals during the day. Using olive oil

in cooking, avacados will help with weight gain.

Sheila,

How are you preparing the avocadoes? My son doesn't like mushy.

Phenol or sal. problem with these?

Blessings,

Hi Sheila, Thanks for replying. Yes, her stomach was pretty big. It has gone

down a lot. I weighed her last night and she's still down about 5-6 lbs. I

am needing to find a snack other than fruit that she will eat. She won't

eat the muffins. Some kind of low phenol cracker would be good.

To change the subject. Her eyes look better today but she has a weird

mediciny/sickly smell to her breath. Is this part of die-off? We will be

at the 5 week point on Saturday. I'm afraid of using avocado's due to the

salicylates. She is eating right now........pears, mangos, papayas, all

kinds of meats, green beans, occasional carrots, watered down carrot and

pomegranate juice, eggs, and that's it. I want to add in some more veggies

but have to hide them. Thanks,
