Guest guest
Hi Hannah, Isis's head is looking so much better now. I have put her back in her helmet this afternoon and everything has been fine (the weather has been a lot cooler this afternoon in Hampshire). I think maybe the rash was caused by a bit of everything... the heat, maybe the alcohol and I also think I may have done it up too tight. I put the helmet on for an hour and then checked for redness, and all was well. She had her hour out this evening and everything was still ok, so she is going to go to bed in it now. I will have a peek in the morning to make sure all is still ok. I hope it has gotten a bit cooler for Lucia now. Its horrible to see them getting so hot and flustered, isn't it? Take care, Thank you for all the help. Faye x Hampshire, UK mum to Caitlyn-10, Harvey-5, Isis-7mths(Cranio band 2 Aug 04) > Hi Faye > > Glad that it is looking a bit better. Guest guest
Hello Faye Great to hear that things are going better for Isis. Let me know tomorrow if you get a minute how her head looks in the morning. Sandy WIllow's Mom > > Hi Faye > > > > Glad that it is looking a bit better. Guest guest
Hi Faye- I'm so glad that it is better- we had exactly the same trouble three days in with Lucia and managed to sort it out just fine- she certainly hasn't had a rash like that since. I'm sure it will be better now- my tip is just to whip it off at the first sign of trouble- it's better for her to have an hour less in the helmet one day, than having it off for a whole day or two cos it's causing real trouble. Sometimes I divide the hour off up- 1/2 hour in am and 1/2 hour in pm if it's a hot day and she needs a break. I also take the helmet off in the morning just for 10 min to air after the sleep- also it will tell you if there is any trouble overnight! As for the weather- it's still boiling here in London!!!! The air just sits in the city. All the US mums are probably thinking why don't you all get air con, but really, it is hardly even like this- we could probably go several summers without it being both very sunny and humid. Poor Lucia has been suffering at night as you will know if you have read my post to Max in the STARband- we've moved the air con in her bedroom and it has solved the problem... I feel a bit sorry for you and Max's parents- you really have started treatment in the worst week cos of the heat. At least I (well, Lucia) had a month of good wear before this. I think the way to think of it is that although you might feel really anxious about getting on with it (I did when we first had trouble), it won't make any difference in the long run. Lots of people here have had events that have made it impossible to wear the band (fevers, chicken pox, or was it measles?, even a christening!) It is time dependent, but not to the extent that a few days will make any difference. You'll all be flying along by next week. Let me know how little Isis is- have you got a pic? I havne't managed to download any of Lucia yet, but shamed by all the enterprising mums and dads on this site, I've managed to stick butterfly stickers all over it (it was plain for a month), she looks really cute! Guest guest
Faye, I am so glad that Isis' head rash has improved so dramatically! It could indeed be owing to a few factors. I do hope you hear back from Dr. Blecher so that you can recount to him what occurred in case he had any more insight into the matter. Take care, Christie (Mom to Repo'd Remy) > > Hi Faye > > > > Glad that it is looking a bit better. It has just been sooo hot > > yesterday and today, I'm not surprised you had trouble.
