Guest guest
Diflucan is an antifungal. I don't think it works on bacteria. To: "mb12 valtrex " <mb12 valtrex >Sent: Sat, July 17, 2010 7:52:08 AMSubject: New to the group and very confused Hello ... My name is Margo .. I have a 3yr old son that was diagnosed with PDD at 22months... I started biomedical treatments right away finding a Dan in my area . I also started my son in ABA and preschool. Unfortunately our Dan was really slow moving. Not much testing. Really only provided us with B12 shots. Now I have found a new Dan . She ordered an Autism Panel and we found that my son has a bacteria overgrowth and his Rubella level is 338. She has given us a prescription for Valtrex and Nystantin. With other supplements, B12 and Enhansa. Here is my question... We are now doing the yeast protocal.. Just finished Diflucan and finishing up with Nystantin ...Do we need to go back to the Diflucan to get rid of the bacteria as well? We already wasted a year ... He is 3 and still non verbal doing only a few signs... I want to call the Dr on Monday to suggest another anti-fungal is needed. Guest guest
Right. But last night I read Stan Kurtz response to the Valtrex therapy on the Taca website... He said Nystatin and Valtrex is a waste... And that is what she has prescribed.. I have heard Nystatin should only be used once the yeast is gone. Should we do another yeast test before starting the Valtrex?Sent from my iPhone Diflucan is an antifungal. Guest guest
If an infant has thrush, Nystatin is good, and generally isn't harmful. When it comes to most of our kids that have yeast in their intestines, Nystatin is not really effective. Yeast is usually an ongoing battle that you have to always keep your eye on it. Docs usually prescribe some sort of antibiotic for bacteria. However, the antibiotic will most likely make the yeast crop up again. I think the best thing to do is ask your doc why they are giving what. Familiarize yourself a little with the treatments and medicines so you are informed and know what does what. Sometimes docs have reasons for giving certain things, and you really gotta ask why. If my doc suggests something for my son, the next thing out of my mouth is why, how does it work, what are the risks, how long has it been in use? I think the ARI website has a video something like treatments A to zinc, in the title. Also the videos that are just question and answer sessions are good for learning about prescriptions and treatments. go to www.autism.com, and look for the free Dan conference videos. It is hard for someone to say what your doc should do without knowing your child. Your doc has to take into account all the things going on and try to prioritize what to do first. You as a parent need to be informed because in the end you are his mother. Hope this helps, I am just a mom, no expert, To: "mb12 valtrex " <mb12 valtrex >Cc: "mb12 valtrex " <mb12 valtrex >Sent: Sat, July 17, 2010 8:08:07 AMSubject: Re: New to the group and very confused Right. Guest guest
Margo... the first things we addressed were: yeast (with Diflucan), then bacteria (with Valtrex)... We have not seen major improvements yet. Since these are actual drugs, you have to perform tests on his liver funtion about every 4 weeks... We are giving him both of these drugs right now, and we are also giving him a supplement called Med Caps DPO, which help drain the liver from toxins. After this, we will be looking into other form of detoxification and maybe chelation and hyperbaric oxigen chambers down the road. What kind of biomedical protocol are you following right now? > > > Hello ... My name is Margo .. I have a 3yr old son that was diagnosed with PDD at 22months...
