Guest guest
Congresswoman Sheila Lee is an idiot, if we waited for the PD to give the okay to dispatch a med unit, then valuable time yould be wasted. From the time the call is made, till the time we have the patient in the ER is crucial. Anyways think about all the lawsuits to come from that, because the FD was not here fast enough, my husband died, etc... If she wants to help with the budget crises, she should shut up and pay her taxes. Because the only thing she is doing is screwing up our world, and we have enough crap to worry about. That is my two cents, thank you have a great day! EMT-B/SAR Swimmer-US Navy

Guest guest
Sheila Lee is a total disgrace and a complete waste of space on this planet. Tighten OUR belts? I had the chance to meet her once, and had I known she was going to call me an ambulance driver I'd have REALLY told her what I think of her. Disgusting and disgraceful.........Thousands of people actually voted for her and that makes me immensely sad. magnetass sends Oh No! > FIRE DEPARTMENTS AND EMS NEED TO TIGHTEN THEIR BELTS > > > > Washington, DC (AP) A prominent Congresswoman has called upon emergency > medical services (EMS) and fire departments nationwide to " tighten their > belts. Guest guest
Speed is not essential to pt care I know cause I read it right here on this list server a few hours one way or another doesn't mean a thing no sirens no lights no hurry take the lights off the unit and the sirens as a matter of fact you don't need those big one tone trucks either save money get a mini van and use one emt-b to save money to and go all basic trucks to save money .. Best thing congress could do to help save taxes is for every one of them to take a pay cut down to what real people earn 50k or maybe even 20k a year. emtp Re: Oh No! > Congresswoman Sheila Lee is an idiot, if we waited for the PD to give the > okay to dispatch a med unit, then valuable time yould be wasted. Guest guest
Actually, it was forwarded to me and I am sure it is a parody. The silver lining is that many people didn't recognize that you can't provide a different response to a false alarm until you get to a scene and see that it is a false alarm. Not one person picked that up. Bledsoe, DO, FACEP Midlothian, TX [http://www.bryanbledsoe.com] RE: Oh No! If we were a half-year ago, it'd be a nice April Fool's joke... And I had hoped there'd be some truth in the government. Shucks. Of course, the silver lining to it all is that we need to be properly educating our Congresspersons as to our needs... Guest guest
You have GOT to be pulling my leg!!! Please tell me she isn't REALLY this cranio-rectally infarcted! " I think that it should be a federal law that all fire departments should send a single fire engine to all false alarms instead of all those trucks and men. " Fine. When your house is burning, Ms. Lee, we'll send one truck to check it first, just to make sure it isn't a false alarm. " Likewise, since we have more police officers, we should send them first to all ambulance calls to make sure an ambulance is really needed before they actually send the ambulance and ambulance drivers out, that would assure that the ambulances are there when people really need them, " she said. No problem there, either. When YOU are ill or injured when the PD is doing shift change, we'll make sure they complete roll call first, so they are completely aware of what's going on in their district, and have them stop for donuts and coffee enroute. That way they'll be fully alert so they can make an " informed cancellation " of EMS. We wouldn't want to subject you to untrained " ambulance drivers " like me... Why don't you just go and check out Neil Armstrong's flag yourself? <rolling eyes now> Barry E. Guest guest
It is a shame she holds Barbara Jordan's former seat. While I disagreed with many aspect of Ms. Jordan's politics, she certainly had class. Bledsoe, DO, FACEP Midlothian, TX [http://www.bryanbledsoe.com] Re: RE: Oh No! Actually, she did make statements about the " white " names of hurricanes, and (if my memory is correct), she also made the dumb statement about the flag. Those of us who live (much too) close to Houston get to hear and read about her ignorance much more often that the rest of you (and much more often than we like). I really wondered about the part about fire, EMS, and LE response. However, knowing that the rest of the story is based in fact lends credibility to the whole story.
