Guest guest
Hi , I, like some others am on my second band and have had slippage, herniated stomach and many other woes. I think I have been opened up about 5 times now for band related ops. The last time was open surgery as it is just too hard to do it laproscopically after a while. I have a regular picture show of scars on my stomach but beings not many people ever get to see that area it doesn't bother me all that much. I am a patient too and Jo is right in that he does the back stitching and mine at least has stayed in place. You shouldn't need to have the band replaced, only repositioned. I know that I have also made some changes to my lifestyle after a couple of the problems. The band is a tool which helps us to lose weight but ultimately people do try and cheat using various methods. The main reason for slippage is often an excess of vomiting and other related activity. I needed to change the way I treated the band and not eat things to excess and then vomit. Vomiting used to be a daily occurrence and now it only happens every couple of weeks. The Brisbane get together on the weekend was great. It was really great to catch up with you all again. Thanks again Esther for taking the trouble to come and visit us. It is always great to meet people face to face instead of over the net. Well, after the weekends met it seems that a few of us are keen to get down to Melbourne for the big bash. It seems most troopers here would prefer a May date, as that will give people time to plan travel and time at work. I know it seems a long time but it would suit us Northeners a bit better if we could plan ahead. So what say you all to the 5th and 6th of may? - Brisbane
