Guest guest
Its my understanding that GAPS bans ALL sugar including the mono-sugars that SCD allows. Reason is that the candida fungus may feed even on mono-sugars that SCD allows (e.g., honey). But GAPS is not rigid in the sense that the ban on mono-sugars is only until the candida is out of control. Ditto with fermented foods. It appears that GAPS allows fermented foods but if candida is around then it will cause allergy to fermented foods. Once gut dysbiosis is controlled, GAPS becomes SCD and even beyond SCD. GAPS is very open and empirical. It allows us to try small bits of banned food after we have fixed the gut dysbiosis.------------ Ratan Singh, Phone: 91 141 2652561, mail: ratanpsych@...- Certificate in Food & Nutrition; Diploma in Nutrition and Health Education; Life Member, Nutrition Soc. of India; Member ISOM- Author of "Nutrition & Supplements in Major Mental Illnesses";- M.A. (Psychol), Postgraduate Diploma in Medical & Social Psychology, Ph.D.;- Certified Behavior Therapist (from late Prof. J.
