physician contact on progress reports

Group, in regarding progress reports (10 visits/30 days), does a physician

contact have to occur at the same time as the progress report. I was

understanding that it did not but a friend maintains that her hospital has been

dinged by their FI for not contacting the MD with a note or something when each

progress note is completed. I have been on the Administar website (our FI) but

all I got was a headache.

Please advise.
