Debbie,

I would do it in the evening when I was sitting at home... that time when

they really like to swell up after being up and about every day.... A

couple of chill sessions right after getting home and another before

bed... I'd do them in the morning when I got up on weekends too. I kept

two bottles for my treatments... the last treatment I did on the side of

the bed... so that I could just swing my feet up into bed and go to

sleep... then I'd have the other bottle in the freezer so it would be

ready for the next day.

You really can't over do it.. just as long as you limit the chill time to

15 minutes.. and let your foot warm up in between. Heheheheeh that

reminds me of when I first moved here... I had two bottles under the desk

and adjusted my chair so that I could roll the bottles under my feet

while I typed.... I had a timer set so that I didnt' forget... at the

fifteen minute mark I'd push them aside... My feet were getting tender

with all the extra walking that I was doing and I was doing it as a

preventative.

Ibuprophen helps with the inflammation, too... If you do just 1 tab every

four hours. But you do it by time, not by how you feel. The intention is

for the Ibuprophen to keep the swelling down... it's not going to do much

for the pain once it's already kicked in. The less swelling of the sheath

there is, the more movement of the tendon, with less pain, and the more

natural lubrication that comes back..... Remember it's the dry friction

between the sheath and the tendon that causes the pain... Reducing the

inflammation and increasing the lubrication reduces that pain...

I'm honestly not trying to harp on it... I just know how much it hurts

and how badly you want it to stop... If you understand what is happening

and how to help... it's easier to handle... When I ran out of thyroid

meds, mine got so bad I ended up on crutches and that even hurt so bad

that I had tears in my eyes at times. It was so bad at one point that I

didnt' even want to eat or drink... that way I didnt' have to walk to the

bathroom...

Thanks Topper and don't worry about harping on it. I appreciate every

little bit of info your have. I think you should put all this in a

document for the files section.

I think the ice is helping, but my feet are still cold from the

treatement I did over an hour ago. I'm going to have to set my timer

also. I am so busy I just can't justify sitting down for nothing but

that. So, like you, I was doing it at my desk. Before I knew it, I had

gone 25 minutes! hehehe.

Blessings

Debbie K.,

See? you got it too cold... Are you wearing a sock or have a sock on the

bottle.. you want a gentle cold.. not a frozen shock....

The rolling back and forth on the bottle helps with reducing inflammation

too... just like when you walk a bit it doesn't hurt as awful bad as when

you first stand up.... the pressure of the bottle rolling back and forth

will help.....

Socks on feet and dish cloth wrapped around bottle. Yes, I rocked it

back and forth. It did feel good......that's why I went too long! ;-)

If it had been miserable, I would have been looking at the clock every

minute and would not have gone over.
