Robin - although I'm not completely sure about the soft spot issue,

there is a photo on this board of a little boy that was 19.5 months

when banded and he got WONDERFUL correction. I believe you can

access it by going to photos, then before and after, then DOC band.

My daughter was over 9 mos. when she got her helmet and we saw

correction within 2 weeks!! There are many other success stories of

children over 1 year and sure many people will post in reply to

you. My advice - if you don't like what that Dr. has to say - find

another one! You know whats best.

Hi,

My baby's soft spot was just about closed when she was first banded,

it closed while she was banded. She was DOCbanded at 11.5 months old

and received excellent correction from her DOCband. If this dr tells

you it's too late, it's not. Are you near a Cranial Tech office?

They'll give you a free evaluation.

Keep us posted.

Hey Robin

Soft spots close anywhere from a year to 18months. When they first

close it's more of a cartilage than bone and takes awhile to really

harden. At 1year Kaitlyn is not too old to see correction. Do you

have access to an active band? At this age she would benefit more

from an active band such as the DOCband and / or the STARband.

Please let us know how the appointment goes.
