Guest guest
Hi Kersten I'm wondering what tests you did for PANDAS? Thanks, Re: strep-carrier? I am a carrier and I did a round of penicillin...next time though may need something diff. My son has PANDAS and he is on long term Augmentin XR-working like a dream thus far. Read my blog about PANDAS here http://www.chicagonow.com/blogs/fighting-autism-and-winning/2010/07/pandas-the-new-autism.html or go to my foundation page.... www.thefarrellfoundation.org for more info. > > > > > > > > How do you know if you are just a carrier or actually have a strep flare? > > > > I have 3 boys, 2 with autism. 1 gets ivig for PANDAS. Him and his brother had some sores on their bottom about 6 months ago and they tested pos for strep. We treated with zithro for 10 days then one time weekly for 3 weeks. About a month or so later I took them back to get re-tested...one wasn't showing any real symptoms and the other was having some itching and they were pos. Did the same protocol as above but are continuing the weekly dose. Here we are about a month later and I took all 3 in to get tested and they all came back pos. None of them have lesions, one has slight itching but not every day. The doc said they might be carriers. > > > > > > > > How do I know?
