Guest guest
Hello, All! This is my first time posting to this group, although I have been following it for over a year. My little son is 3.5yrs and about 46 lbs, diagnosed last year with PDD-NOS. We have followed a full DAN protocol, GAPS dietary intervention as of March (with phenomenal results) AC chelation since last October (just completed round 24 with DMSA and ALA and will begin ALA only next weekend. We know we still have a long road ahead, but it is evident to all that he is in recovery. Last summer we did a 3 month trial of Virastop, 1 cap 3 x per day -- there was rashing around the stomach, and we did keep him on it as when we tried to take him off, we noted regression. We then ramped up the dose with Virastop x2, with continued good results, and then stopped in December when we didn't see much one way or the other (but we did not ramp up past 3 Virastopx2 per day. We began again about 1 week ago -- 1 cap Virastopx2, 3x per day. We did this in combination with Candidase as he had a rare yeast flare. He broke out in a huge rash all around his mouth which has subsided now, but is still vaguely there. On the 2nd day following the resumption of this protocol, he also broke out in what I can only compare to a measles like rash on one upper arm and one thigh (opposite sides of the body). These two rashes disappeared after one day. Last night, we increased his last dose to 2 caps of Virastopx2, and today, he has a large rash on his side, near his belly. We know that he has viral issues from Klinghardt and serum testing. I do want to start OLE but wanted some thoughts on this -- would this be a good time to start or do we wait until we ramp up to this therapeudic Virastop dose (ideally, 3 caps, 3x per day until no further regression is noted and we ramp down) or should we wait? Do we give OLE together with Virastop, between meals? What would be an appropriate dosage? I have heard conflicting things... Thank you -- this is helping my son tremendously, despite the scary rashes and some odd behaviour. Tonight in the bath he seemed almost typical. Much respect to you all, Fiona
