Guest guest
I thought you all would like to know what Max thought of the gathering: He did not think it was for RSS kids for a second. All he thought was that I was meeting friends that I had met on the internet. He knew that it was for RSS kids and I had told him that people were excited to be meeting him because he would be the oldest one with RSS at the party, but I think he forgot that. All he commented on was how cute was, how much he loved playing with and watching , and playing Gameboy with two other boys. In all honesty, I am glad. I don't want Max to go through life thinking he is labeled as the boy with RSS. I want him to see himself as a normal person who can do whatever he sets his mind to do. I guess he is doing that. Good for him. Of course, there was one heartbreaking comment he made that brought tears to my eyes in the middle of the party: He told me that when we go to Florida next Saturday, he wants me to have tank tops for him to wear with is bathing suits. I was surprised because he had the surgery to close the hole from the g-button and he does not need bandages there anymore. His comment was, " Mom, I just want to have my stomach look normal. " I promised him that if it bothers him that much that I will speak to Dr. H. about a plastic surgeon who can do that for him. My next email will be to Dr. H. to pursue that. I did not think that Max cared. But he does. Jodi
