Guest guest
Hi , Jodi, Ken, and all of you who have sent your kind notes: (Don't worry--I won't give you daily updates for the next 10 years! :-)) ....Well, the honeymoon period wore off quickly. Last night refused the medicine. In fact we had the needle in and he knocked it out before we could plunge the meds, causing a small abrasion on his skin...So, we waited until he slept to give him the shot. (Okay, Jodi: You warned us!). The Humatrope book suggests giving a sticker each evening, so we are going to try to figure out some reward system. Unfortunately, I think we made a mistake last night. We said that we would read him another book if he took the shot. Since he didn't, we didn't read him the book, which caused him to cry. I realized that we were taking away something that we have done with him normally in the past. So, I guess we need to focus on more postive reinforcement as opposed to removing something he already enjoys doing.
