Guest guest
i just found this support group. My son is 3 1/2 months old and was diagnosed with torticollis about 2 months ago. He is doing better with head control but his head is still flat on the left side. If it does not improve by 4 1/2 months his pt and ped will discuss a helmet for him. I do not know a whole lot about this. So I was just looking for some support. Any information would be helpful.
Guest guest
Hi Patti- Where in OH are you? We live in Cincinnati and drive to Cleveland for Jake's helmet. Jake is 17months and in the DOC Band. He also has Tort and is in therapy unfortuanatly our Doctors did not suggest the banding so we got a late start. You have a great Doctor for noticing and have time to do your research. Good luck and let us know if you need anything. mom to Jake (17 mos) DOC Band 5/27Patti <pdeel_7@...> wrote: i just found this support group. Guest guest
Hi , We are in Toledo. Our pt said there is a place here locally that makes helmets. I am hoping Danny's head rounds out by repositioning, but I would like to be prepared. > i just found this support group. Guest guest
Hi Patti & welcome: It's great your son is still at such a great younger age. Hopefully with some aggressive repositioning, you can avoid the need for a helmet/band. BUT, if you do end up needing to band him, don't worry, babies do remarkably well in their bands and walk away with a rounder head in mos! We have a ton of repositioning tips in both our LINKS & FILES sections of our group. I'm sure some of our other repositioners will chime in w/their handy tips. I looked in our DATABASE & found the below listed STARband provider in Toledo IF you'd end up needing a band for your son. Please keep us posted - good luck.
