Guest guest
KELLY, OH MY GOSH, I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE AFTER ALL. SATURDAY, MY HUSBAND AND I TOOK OUR 7 AND 4 YEAR OLDS TO A FISHING RODEO (OUR VFW DOES THIS EVERY YEAR FOR THE KIDS) AND AS I SAT ON THE BLANKET WITH TANNER, SWEATING MY BEHIND OFF I FOUND MYSELF CHECKING OUT THIS LITTLE BOY WHO IS ABOUT 3 OR 4 AND IS IN WORSE SHAPE THAN TANNER. HE IS FLAT ACROSS THE BACK AND HIS HEAD IS ODD SHAPE. I TAKE TANNER BACK TO THE DOC. MONDAY AND I HOPE THEY CAN FIX HIS HELMET TO FIT CORRECTLY. I TOLD THEM I WONT ADD FOAM AT HOME ANY MORE BUT THEY STILL ACT LIKE I MAY NEED TO. I WISH I COULD START ALL OVER AGAIN, I WOULD HAVE GOTTEN ON THIS SUPPORT GROUP FROM DAY 1. TANNER HAS GONE 5 DAYS WITHOUT HIS HELMET AND HAS BEEN SUCH A GOOD BABY, HE IS GOING TO HATE TO PUT IT BACK ON. GOOD NITE!! Guest guest
OH MY GOSH!!!!!!! I am doing the same thing!!!! Are we obsessed with heads or what!!!! I look at every kid's head from infant to 5 year old. I hope I don't look crazy. ;-). I did have to stop a mother a few months ago. Her daughter was so tort that her head was resting on her shoulder. I approached her sooooooo delicately, that I didn't look like a freak with a baby in a helmet. LOL. I don't know if she listened, but she will wish she did in a few months if she didn't. I made flyers to hand out whenever someone asks about in his helmet. It has this website and other information websites for people to look at. I feel like is a Palm Harbor,FL poster child for Plagio/Brchy. LOL. He wears the helmet good with huge smiles, so if anyone approaching will feel comfortable. I am definitely with you! Guest guest
You are definately not alone - I feel like I am a spokesperson on torticollis and plagio at the moment. Since it appears that many of our doctors and peds are underestimating the severity of both I assume I must evaluate every darn head I see!!! I am taking my other two children to swimming lessons and last Fri I just couldn't keep my darn mouth shut and gently approached a woman who obviously had a son with brachy. She listened to what I said but didn't want to process any of it (I could tell) It's her first so I think I really put her off and I've regretted saying anything, especially since she was not at lessons on Fri. I hope it was not because of me. I just wanted to help as time is definately a factor here. I thought her husband might show up and give me a piece of his mind or something!
