Guest guest
From being on the board for over a year I would say that most of the plagio babies actually seem to have large heads (90+%). My son is usually 25-50% for height/weight with a <3% for head and my new baby is 80% for height/weight and 10% for head cir. I guess we are just a small headed family...LOL...don't worry though, they are both developmentally on target mentally and physically. I'm sure that Zander is fine. Guest guest
Sherryl, I always just guessed that brachy babies were off a little percentile wise because of the head being pushed upward. When I see the RN's measuring head circumference they measure from the middle around. Not sure if there is a way you can compensate for that type of head shape to get the true reading; Especially when the back is flat evenly. Again, this is just a guess from my own experience. Yet another question I will try to ask this week. Guest guest
Hi Crista, That's what I was thinking...the flatness across the back in Brachy babies must set their measurments off. Zander's head is definitely not small. In fact, his head is much bigger than his cousin's, who is the same age. I think it just doesn't measure right because of the Brachy. Guest guest
Sherryl, I think Remy's plagio/brachy also skewed her head circumference results. Before repo was completed, she was about the 35% head circ., since much of her head was squashed up above the measurement line. After 2 months of repo, when her flatness popped out and rounded right at the head circ. measurement line, she jumped up to the 55%. Take care, Christie (Mom to Repo'd Remy) --- In Plagiocephaly , " Sherryl " <nickandgabe@h...> wrote: > I know there has already been some discussion about this tonight, > but I wanted to find out what you all have found with your babies. > Zander's head only measured at the 45th percentile at his 4 month > check up (he was 75% height and 85% weight)..that's what concerned > his pediatrician. Guest guest
Hi Sherryl I believe Willow was in the 55% before treatment and last visit she was actually in the 75th for head cm. Weight and height is both 50%.
