Guest guest
Hi Elvira, Pierre has already given you excellent advise, and I just wanted to pipe in and agree that you should mention it to your doctor. My pulse runs around 64-66 usually.
Guest guest
Hi Elvira. What was your normal pulse rate before? Some people are naturally slower, some faster. Lowering BP can be overdone. You want to lower it as much as practicable, without causing too many other effects. If it causes your heart to beat faster all the time, it's possible it might be lowered a little too much. I think somewhere around 60 to 80 is optimal. 85 isn't too bad, but 95 is a little fast, if it's at rest. It's not something that is really harmful in the short term, but you might want to discuss it with your doctor the next time you go. Pierre pulse rate > > Hi > > I have just a question. Guest guest
--- Thanks a lot Pierre, before prescribing me ACE ihibiotors the pulse rate was the same. Maybe I am the one with faster heart rate....but you are right, I will talk to my doc the next time. Guest guest
By the way, there are a few people who need a beta blocker or a calcium channel blocker to lower their BP, because the heart rate is just too fast with any of the other types of drugs. ACE inhibitors usually don't affect heart rate (pulse), unless BP is really too low. Your doctor might not worry too much if your heart rate is only 85 though. Guest guest
Hi Elvira, and Pierre got this one covered so I'll pass on commenting. Just wanted to say I loved following the conversation between you and Pierre some time back on watching your kids start university! Please give my best to Radek. Guest guest
--- Hi , Thank you for your comment. I will ask my doctor about it the next time...If the normal range is between 60 - 80 more than 90 pulse rate ( at rest) seems to be a little bit too rapid. Guest guest
Elvira, Smoking can cause your pulse to go up. Of course, no one in this group would ever do anything like that.
Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I have written before about my husband Don, who is currently on peritoneal dialysis. He was put on an ace inhibitor two different times and had a bad reaction. His neph couldn't understand why is body was having a negative reaction when many patients have a positive reaction. Allot of the time nephs have to experiment with medications because not everyone with IGAN responds the same. So hang in there when a medication is prescribed. This is off the topic but I wanted to let everyone know that my husband is about to have a positive life experience in the next couple of weeks. He was 19 when he found out he had RP(Retinitispigmitosis) and nobody has ever given him positive feedback on advancements with RP. He is about to have laser surgery done on each eye, one at a time. If everything is successful he will see much better and will only have to wear regular reading glasses. We could use a few prayers and positive thoughts. have a great day! thekuhns@... Guest guest
Last October I had a problem with my resting pulse which was around 130.... went for a bunch of tests that showed nothing so the doctor put me on a Beta Blocker as Pierre mentioned. This is in addition to the ACE inhibitor that I am on as well. It hass brought it down to the under 90 acceptable range and I am still on the beta blocker. - Mark > Hi Elvira. > > What was your normal pulse rate before? Guest guest
Hi Mark, It's good to hear someone weigh in on this one. Our pediatrician (but not our neph) always looks closely at resting and active pulses. I'm glad you got yours under control. Cy pulse rate > > > > > > > > > > Hi > > > > > > I have just a question.
