Guest guest
, Could you send me your meatball recipe again.........the one with the pork and beef? Thanks. Again with the phenols but I am using banana, pear, golden delicious apple, pineapple juice, green bean, carrot and lots of beef and pork (Abby doesn't like chicken). Those are low correct? Since we are so limited she may get two bananas a day. Oh, I also started mango today. Do you use nut flour? I have read that nut butters are better for awhile with these phenol sensitive kids? Do you use any honey? I am thinking Abby can't handle any at all. I'm still learning. Sorry if I appear so dense. You are a big help to me. Kathy Abby's mom SCD for 22 days and low sal. Guest guest
You are NOT dense! yes, all those things are low. You're doing great. Mango is, too, Luke doesn't like it all that well anymore, but going to try again sometime soon. I use peanut butter and cashew butter, so far. Nut flours are too much for him except in TINY amounts, too early in the diet, his stools get too soft, so that's not just a phenol thing. I can't use honey AT ALL, have to use saccharin/sweet and low when a sweetener is needed, otherwise try to replace honey in recipes w/ pureed pears, that works okay but doesn't provide the stickiness some things need. in NC, USA mom to Luke, 5, Asperger's/salicylate intolerant/diarrhea pre-SCD; , 3, healthy;,19mos,healthy; SCD going since 1/26/04 meatballs, etc. > , > Could you send me your meatball recipe again.........the one with the pork and beef? Guest guest
Thanks , But I do feel overwhelmed at times! Having a teen & a ASD child keeps my brain from functioning sometimes! I put some cooked mango, a banana and a lot of ice in the blender for a smoothie this morning for Abby and she absolutely loved it! She ate a huge ribeye steak last night too like she was SO starving! I haven't tried peanut butter, only cashew but she seems to not like the cashew taste. I don't know why I'm scared of peanut butter. Maybe because she hasn't had it in years! I do think she would like the peanut taste better. I have got to make something crunchy for her........a cookie or cracker. I plan make the muffin recipe like you said into a cookie. You don't use apple cider vinegar do you? Thanks again for the support! Oh yeah, what is your meatball recipe again? Also, do you use kiwi.........what about the little seeds? Guest guest
I didn't know what to do with the kiwi for him so I just ate it myself! Sorry I forgot to pass on the meatball recipe: 1 lb ground beef 1 lb ground pork 1 cup pureed vegs (I do half carrot/half green bean) 2 eggs Roll and bake on parchment paper at 350 for 30 mins. I also make burger patties out of the same stuff, but the kids prefer the balls. in NC, USA mom to Luke, 5, Asperger's/salicylate intolerant/diarrhea pre-SCD; , 3, healthy;,19mos,healthy; SCD going since 1/26/04 Re: meatballs, etc. > Thanks , But I do feel overwhelmed at times!
