Guest guest
I hope it helps me then. After you told us about Enzymatic Therapy last week, I ordered some from iherb.com What fantastic service! I ordered on Friday and it arrived here in the UK on Monday. Shipping fee is hefty so I ordered plenty to make it worthwhile. Lynda (in the UK) Re: Hi Shelli!! YES!! That is the most irritating feeling...so sore and painful. Mine is gone. Was gone within the first few days of taking Enzymatic Therapy...started to come back a little when I was switching to Isocort...yet went away when I started on Isocort. Guest guest
thanks for that info. The worst pain is on the left side, just seems to be tender between the ribs - and also between the ribs on the upper chest area too. Lynda (in the UK) Re: Hi Shelli!! I still have that rib pain, it is awful and I wish it would go away! The worst spot is right around where my bra sits. Guest guest
OMG - I thought it was just me - I've experienced pain just recently on that left side and wondered what the heck it was! Guest guest
I did take a dose of armour one night, I already had insomnia and the armour certainly didn't improve matters ! I will try again this weekend and see what happens this time. My sleep seems to be sorted out now, thanks to melatonin and nytol Lynda (in the UK) Re: Hi Shelli!! Have you tried taking a small dose of thyroid at bed time? I had persistent rib pain upon waking.. to the point where I just hated going to bed at night because I knew how awful I'd feel when I woke.... the first time I took a dose of thyroid at bed time... and the next dose as soon as I woke... no more rib pain... I know some can't do that.. it mess up their sleep cycle... but perhaps you could do a test on yourself over a weekend, so that if it should happen that you don't sleep well with a bed time dose it won't mess up your day so badly... ..... just a thought... it worked wonders for me..... Guest guest
Hi Lynda, I'm not sure of the solution - more Armour probably- as some have suggested - but that pain is most likely " costochondritis " ...which is inflammation of the cartilage and ligaments between the breastbone (sternum) and the ribs. Thatpain has happened to me a lot before (and I've never had any doctor that connected it to the Hashi's - but since when do most of them connect anything to your thryoid issues...) Just like many of us here frequently suffer from the plantar fascitis in our feet I thnk that it is similar to that and it most likely is connected to our need for more thyroid hormone. Guest guest
Hi Kate, yes, I think it probably is costchondritis as I sometimes get the pain in my sternum as well. I am trying to increase my intake of armour but I am having to do it ever so slowly. I tried a few weeks ago to increase by a quarter grain and couldn't, so I started taking iron tabs, as suggested by Janie. This week, I tried again and I seem to be ok on the extra quarter grain, so I'll hold it there for a few weeks and then try to increase again. I also get the plantar fascitis from time to time. Guest guest
Lynda, For me the night time dose of thyroid along with starting the adrenal support finally got rid of the insomnia that I'd been battling since the RAI....... It's all a balance thing... figuring out what each of our individual bodies need..... ..... I would think, though, that it would be better if you could figure out what you need to do for good sleep without using the nytol.... that's just booze and drugs... (last time I read the label it had a high content of alcohol....) Guest guest
yep, I wake at 1.30 regular as clockwork. I'll have a look for the Phosphatidyl serine, thanks! Lynda Re: rib pain Nytol is not a good thing on a regular basis. Have you tried taking Phosphatidyl serine? Look it up on google! It lowers your cortisol levels at night so you are able to get into deep sleep. Do you wake at 1 or 3 now? If so, that is cortisol. I am feeling so much better now that I can sleep. I get mine at HSN.com, but most good health stores should carry it. The main studies were done in the UK I believe.
