Excess urination is not uncommon during die off. Many people have

reported it at start of diet (bedwetting and/or significant urgency

during day).

In the past, Adam has had bedwetting streaks (pre SCD) at the start

of various antifungals. I had come to associate it with die off.

He did it on SCD at the beginning also.

Some parents have also found that bedwetting can be due to magnesium

deficiency/corrected when magnesium is given.

We have had both situations here- die off and mag need - at

different times/

I have read that nuts have quite a bit of mag., so if you are using

nuts mag. may well not be the problem.

This early in teh diet, I would guess for Abby its die-off.

le (3 y.o.) is still in diapers, so it's easy to monitor her

pee output -- and I can tell you, it's been astounding for the last

month or so (since about the second week of the diet). She's

drinking about as much as she usually does (although she does seem

more thirsty), and she's peeing out twice or three times as much! I

don't know where it's coming from. If she were potty-trained, she'd

absolutely be wetting the bed. So I'm sure the problem with your

daughter is die off too.

I know you don't want to move backwards on potty training, but can

you put her into pullups overnight for awhile to deal with this?

It's been going on for over a month with le, and that's a lot

of sheets!

Well, she's 9 years old and has been dry off and on at night since last Fall

and the last two months everynight...........We are so very proud of her!

I'm going to give it a couple of weeks because I feel it has to do with SCD

and don't want to send her the message that I think she can't do it. I also

think it's the amount of fluid she intaking but am going to try to cut it

down some.

I just was wondering if this is a " normal " result of SCD in the beginning.

I read a posting a while back that said that she was told that carbs hold a

lot of water in our bodies so when we dump a lot of the carbs we will be also

dumping alot of the excess water. So you really want to make sure that your

fluid intake is up (water) doing scd especially in the beginning.

I am sorry I could not find the exact post but I believe this mom also

cofirmed this with a professional and they agreed.
