Guest guest
Leila, was that free T3 or just T3? Also, post your numbers and ranges for that T3 lab you mentioned. When docs say something is " normal " , it tells us that they don't know what they are talking about!! And by what you posted all by itself, it doesn't show any hint of hypo. So knowing that T3 test plus range will get you extra info. Janie > T3 was Normal. > TSH was 0.018. Normal is 0.099--5.5 > > I am hypothyroid!!! Guest guest
Looks like you may not be hypo, but hyper. The others can tell you for sure. This would explain your anxiety etc... What is your resting heart rate. Do you rmember what they recorded it as? Also blood pressure? I hope everything is fine and I am reading it wrong. > I just got my thyroid test results! > > T3 was Normal. > TSH was 0.018. Normal is 0.099--5.5 > > I am hypothyroid!!! Guest guest
There is a range for everything. Are they sending you a copy of the results or when are you going to pick up a copy? Guest guest
Leila, It's hard to say what those results mean because different labs use different measurements. For instance, one lab may use a range of 0.2 - 0.5 ng/dL, which would indeed show your T3 to be high. Along with a low TSH, your are indicating hyperthyroidism. This explains your fatigue and panic attacks. It also explains your neck pain. You may have a goiter associated with hyperthyroidism. Get a glass of water and stand in front of a mirror, drinking with your head tilted back. If you see or feel a lump just above your collar bone, but below your adam's apple area, then you may have a goiter. Many of the same symptoms occur with both thyroid conditions. You are getting pooped out with all that racing. Check your pulse. If you are very active (athletic), then your pulse would most probably hover around 55-70. If you are active and it is considerably higher than that, then you just may possibly have hyperthyroidism. Do you have a big appetite? Sweaty/clammy hands? Does thyoid disease run in your family? I just read an article that stated that autoimmune thyroid disease runs in families and offspring have a near 50% chance of getting the same illness from a parent. > >To add to what she said, the lower the TSH, the less hypo The higher means > >you are hypo! Guest guest
Leila.... There HAS TO BE a range. Almost every lab test in the world has a range. If there's no range there's nothing to compare the result to. For your own sake, start getting copies of ALL your lab work. You have a right to this so don't let anyone tell you you can't have it. You paid for it, you have a right to it. Get physical/paper copies. Then you'll have this info for your file, too. Another good rule of thumb is to NEVER accept the answer of " normal " or " they look good. " Any doctor who says this to me will automatically have to walk his little butt to the copy machine to make me one -- or in most cases, he or she will deligate this to his/her nurse. Guest guest
What medical school did he go to??? If there were blood tests done there was definatly ranges! Your TSH was low and so was the FreeT3 and now you need the experts on here. I would ask to speak to the Dr because whoever you talked to on the phone either did'nt care or was lieing to you. Guest guest
Without the reference range, no one can tell what that number means. Reference ranges vary by lab. If you have the range, compare your value to the range. Is it at the bottom of the range, or more toward the top numbers. Most people feel best at the top third of the reference range. Let us know how it works out for you. Patti in MI Re: Re: Abnormal blood test results!!! >To add to what she said, the lower the TSH, the less hypo The higher means >you are hypo! Guest guest
I can't wait to see where my T3 levels are this blood draw. I have been feeling so good since taking adrenal support... Seems my Armour is working even better with it. And I am still at 390mgs. Yesterday I had a pretty icky day...was tired, crabby...but I think it is because of my monthly cycle. (not that you really want to know all that info! LOL) But I find that my cycles are doing sooo much better 4 days long, not to heavy. But one thing that changes each month and seems to take on cycles is PMS and cramps. I believe I really need to get back on Progesterone... Many Hugs...PattiSue Re: Re: Abnormal blood test results!!! >To add to what she said, the lower the TSH, the less hypo The higher means >you are hypo!
