Guest guest
Oh god..that's a lot. I got tired reading it. Why didn't she put the ice cream cake in the freezer? Hope today has been better! ~patricia birthday Yesterday was nada's birthday. I hate all holidays but her birthday is the worst. I will tell you my day yesterday. 6:00- Get up. get the kids ready for school (mine and my 15 year old niece who lives with us). 6:45- pick up neighbor's kids (my turn for car pool) drive kids to school. we live out of town so it's about a 20 mile drive. 8:30- Go to the DMV to get my 16 year old's car (1st car) titled and registered. 10:30- Meet with lawyer to see if there is anyway that I can get my 14 year old niece from my bp sis (the niece asked me to help her get away from her nightmare home life). 11:30- Dad calls needs a ride to rescue my stepmom, the brakes on their car went out while she was out shopping. 11:45 Pick up dad go get stepmom and see where brakes went bad. Take dad to parts store and then back to car ( " will you be ok? " " Yeah, thanks for your help. " " No problem, see you later. " ) 12:00 Pick up oldest son's friend from the collage and give him a ride out to our house so he can spend the weekend. On the way home dad calls " I think I'm getting to old because I need help. Could you call your hubby and see if he could come give me a hand? " " Sure, dad, no problem " . Call hubby, he can use his lunch hour to help but he needs a ride because he drove the company truck from the soldotna shop to the kenai shop and he can't use it for personal errands. 1:30 Pick up hubby and take him to help dad. Nada calls. " What time are you coming over? " " I don't know, mom, I have to pick up the kids from school, and I have to drive neighbor's kids home " . " oh I thought you would come over as soon as school got out " . " I can't I have to drive neighbor's kids home " . " Oh, but I bought me an icecream cake because I thought you would be here and it's melting " . " I'm sorry mom " . " sigh. Well what time will you be here? " " I don't know, later, around dinner time. " " Dinner time? Well can you come at five? " " sure we can be there at about five " . hang up. 5 minutes later older sis calls sounding harassed " what time are you coming over? Mom was unsure and I have things I need to do. " " I told mom that we would be there about 5 " . " ok " . hang up. 2:30 Pick up the kids from school on the way to home hubby calls " you need to go pick up your dad's car because he started feeling bad and had to leave before it was fixed, so I left it at the kenia shop " (dad has heart problems, he has had a quadruple bypass). 3:30 Take 16 year old son with me so he can follow me to granpa's house. 4:30 Get back home, tired stressed. I decide that I have to unwind a little before going to see nada. I ask my oldest son to call her for me and tell her that it will be closer to 6 before we get there. I run myself a hot bath and tell everyone in the house that unless it's life or death I don't want to be disturbed while in the tub. 6:00 Go to nada's eat melted icecream cake and ask if she would like to go out for pizza for her b-day. Go eat pizza Nada asks the kids if they want to stay at her house my boys all have plans this weekend and 15 year old niece says maybe. Dinner goes on lots of talking, eating, and laughing. Pizza is gone, time to say g'night, nada says niece agreed to spend the night with her, niece says no that she said maybe, nada argues dh very firmly says that niece did in fact say maybe. my sis gets mad tells dh that he is rude and tells mom that it is time to go, nada and sis leave in a huff. Guest guest
Wow, you poor thing. I'm exhausted just reading it. You handled it great, though. My mom does that, too. " You said <fill in blank>. " When you KNOW you did NOT say that. Sigh. > > Yesterday was nada's birthday. I hate all holidays but her birthday is the worst.
