Guest guest
Hi ! I am sorry to hear you gained your weight back. Your experience can also benefit our group as to how to avoid weight regain. It is something that can happen to any of us. Would you mind sharing how you reversed the effects of your original surgery? I would suggest you start weaning yourself from whatever trigger foods create problems for you. Personally, I can't go near Krispy Kreme donuts, pizza or soda or it's all over for me. I don't believe in moderation. Some doors are better left shut for me. May I suggest starting a moderate exercise program. Walking is the easiest way to start. Thank you for joining us. I respect your candor and motivation to fight the battle of obesity. Never give up! Guest guest
Any pre-op diet should be auth'd by the surgeon. Perhaps you can call their office and see if it would be beneficial to start a weight loss program now, or wait until you are only a few weeks prior to surgery...but check with their office first! PLEASE!!! jbbb hijadedios2001 wrote: Hey Guys: My name is . I had a VBG about 8 years ago and have regained all of my weight back. After years of feeling embarrassed I found Obesityhelp.com and am feeling blessed. I now know that I am not the only one out there. I recently went to my consult with Dr. Herron in NYC and he suggested that I go with the RNY as opposed to the DS that I wanted. I am now at 5'1 and 280 lbs. I am wondering if it would be smart to start some kind of diet now before surgery. I would love some feedback on what I should start to do before this surgery. We are a very active support group. Guest guest
Hi Welcome! If you are determined to go on a " diet " I would suggest weight watchers. Mostly because it will help you get your portion sizes under control before they really get cut. Anyway thats what I did and it helped me to loose 40 lbs before surgery.
