Guest guest
Hi, Does anyone know if a conehead shape can be fixed or reversed??? Grace had a bad bad local helmet that made her head into a conehaed shape. She wore it for 5.5 months, with very little head growth, as it turned out her head was growing up not out!!!! I have the option of getting a new helmet, but do I go for it. If the conehead can be fixed then I would do it. I am so sick to my stomach and cannot sleep over all this. Grace had mild plagio on the left side, if I did not obsess about it she probably would have rounded with repon'g, but no I had to stick her in a helmet and now this. I will try to post pics. Pleas let me know if a tall box shape head can be rounded at 10.5 months. We have no options to the starband or doc, the helmet available is only a passive local one. I really need some encouragement. Tracey
Guest guest
Tracey, I really wish I had some words of encouragement for you. At Grace's age she'd really only benefit from an active band. Passive helmets rely totally on growth. At 10.5 months the head is growing sooo slowly. Where are you located? Are you sure you're not near a place that does STARbands? > Hi, > Does anyone know if a conehead shape can be fixed or reversed??? > Grace had a bad bad local helmet that made her head into a conehaed > shape. Guest guest
Yes but in my opinion I would only use Cranial technologies. You can fly there free with angel flight, http://www.angelflight.org/free_medical_transportation.asp Please dont think you can do any thing about this.. you can. You need to get going on this asap because time is your childs enemy. At 10.5 mths of age if you act quickly you can get a correction from this. My daughter is a graduate and has no natural correction in 4 years after we finished treatment.
