Hi everyone, Well finally after many years of struggling to get help and

going through several Drs., I've been diagnosed with hypothyroidism by my

Internist. Even though my adrenal tests came back low, they were dismissed -

" you need more estrogen " was the response. I had to almost beg for the tests

(TSH, T3 and T4). Interestingly, TSH was 'normal' but T3 was borderline. I've

just started with Armour thyroid and already feel a difference.

I am looking for a good Dr. in the Southern California area - can anyone

give me a recommendation for a human being who will listen and knows the correct

tests to perform with me having to beg for them?

Thanks.

Hi Patti,

Thanks for such a fast response making me feel very welcome to the site.

There are several Docs. in my area - how do I choose (help)? I will do some

research.

A big thanks also for the info. you provided re the Adrenal Fatigue

supplement - I'll be sure to check it out. I can't believe that some of our

Docs appear to be too busy to listen to us and help us to get back on our

feet. Thank goodness for groups like this with such great caring people. I

really appreciate the support.

Take care and have a great weekend :)

Hi , You are always welcomed here...we are here to help you in anyway we

can.

As far as knowing which one to see...you should ask a few questions.

1. Does the doc mainly use Armour Thyroid? What does he think of Armour thyroid

as opposed to Synthroid/Levoxyl. (this list of docs is considered Broda

docs...but some say they are and aren't)

2. Does this doc use basal temps, muscle testing, and bloodwork ALONG with the #

1 diagnosis... " how is the patient feeling? " The reason that this is so important

is that a person can have " perfect " bloodwork but feel terrible. And the doc

should know to treat the symptoms/patient not the test results. We are not

numbers and it is routine for the patient to not feel well even though the

bloodwork shows " within normal ranges " .

3. What Insurance does he take?

These are very important questions that you have every right to get direct

answers for. We hire our docs..they don't hire us. Interview each one...get

back with us on their answers and we can pretty much point you in the right

direction!!

I trust that you will do well. If you have any questions at all you can post

here or feel free to contact me on my personal email..

Many HUgs...You are on your way to a healthy life!!
