Pregnancy & Armour

Well I may have seemed to have disappeared after my first 2 posts -

but no, I've just been acclimating myself to some news- I'm

pregnant. Very unexpected, not even sure when or how our birth

control failed.

Anyway I've been taking the Armour for over a week, and don't know

what I'm feeling and how my body is reacting to that and/or the

pregnancy.

I'm sticking with it, hoping my wonderful OB will support me. My

first appointment isn't until March, so I am hoping to be doing so

well I can just breeze by the issue with a short explanantion of why

I'm not seeing the Dr who originally prescribed it, and get her to

prescribe my refills.

Any input on pregnancy and thyroid? I tried to scan through the old

messages, but there are so many, I hope you all don't mind me just

asking.

Congrats!!!!

I would suggest you get the book Living well with hypothyroidism by

Shomon.

During your pregnancy it is important to continue taking Armour and

get your thyroid levels checked.

This is wierd. Today I was thinking about the magnetic sign idea and

the fact that someone mentioned that anyone who really wanted info would

find it on the net. So I go do a search using terms I might use before I

learned all the stuff on this group. Our NaturalThyroidHormones group

didn't show up in any of the searches. Just mostly your normal

you-know-what.

But then I read this post and suddenly I remembered seeing something

about pregnancy in a search for " subclinical hypothyroidism. " Why I

the " pregnancy " thing stood out to me is beyond me b/c I'm past that

(hysterectomy).

Anyway, I did remember it so here is the link just in case there might

be some useful info for you.

Who knows, it might be info your doc could use.

Congratulations!! Whatever you do , please stay on your Armour, and you are

definately going to have to increase as the pregnancy grows and your body

demands more T3. What ever you do, stand your ground and stay on it hun.

I lost two babies because of thyroid disease....it is definately a symptom of

hypo. I don't want to scare you...but just watch your basal temps daily and

keep up your armour, increasing as you feel you need it.

Hugs..and I am so happy for you.

PS...After losing two, I had a wonderful, healthy baby boy, . He is the

love of my life...of course along with my other three : )

My doc made sure my temps stayed about 97.8 and that my armour was sufficient.
