Guest guest
Hi : Yikes! He seriously told you he could wear the band in the tub or pool? Um yeah, there's a big old red flag for sure! The blue vinyl piece which was added also concerns me a bit. I suppose because in my baby's ill fitted STARband, her orthotist also added a blue foam (not vinly) pc to the back of her band to increase pressure to compensate for lack of correction (genius move, grrr). How is the band fitting now? Any better? Any bad red spots? Too tight? (sorry, 20 ?'s here!).Whether or not it's ok to have gaps now where there weren't any last night, is a tough one to answer w/o seeing the band or the baby so I'd hate to comment on that! Are the new gaps in an area that NEEDS to be filled in (such as the flat area (s) of his head)? If so, then I'd say it was ok. But again, not sure w/o seeing. Do you have any pics you can add to our PHOTOS of him in the band? How long has he had it again? Sorry you're so concerned, but you're doing everything you should be. Great job researching & questioning all this! Please keep us posted. Hope things work out. Debbie Abby's mom DOCGrad MI > I live in Bartlesville and drive to Tulsa (1hour). Tulsa has 2 orthotists and OKC (3 hours) has one. Both of the places in Tulsa have less experience than I would like. I am not really sure about the place in OKC. The wrong information I am talking about is he said he could go in the pool or bath with his helmet. He didn't know what to do about a heat rash, except say it would probably go away. He was pretty relaxed about the time period adjustments in the beginning. He did give me written instructions that contradicted all of that and that is what I have been following. I do feel like he made a good casting. I don't know. I just like to follow instructions to a T, especially when it comes to my son. > > > > Re: loose helmet adjustment > > > Hi , > I didn't have a starband, let alone an active band, so I am not the > person to address this.
