Guest guest
Hi, again: What I meant to say was that I gave 1/4 " teaspoon " the first day and 1/2 " teaspoon " therafter. Also, I did want to mention that after I started the yogurt (the very first day in fact), my older son said " star " with the " st " in place for the very first time. He used to always say " gar " . Pretty amazing. I just didn't want to leave out the good stuff. -- In pecanbread , " cthompsonslaptop " <cthompsonslaptop@y...> wrote: > Hello everyone. > > Well, it's the fifth day of trying my boys on goat yogurt and, I > must say, it has NOT been fun! Guest guest
Hi , You'll get varying responses to this. One will be that you should stop the goat yogurt and try again after more healing has taken place. How long have you been on SCD altogether? I started goat yogurt (in greater quantity than you describe -- probably a couple of tablespoons to start -- oops) with at 3 1/2 months SCD, and we had about 10 days of bad behaviour, HOWEVER, we saw a great burst of language that made me stick with it. As with everything in SCD, you will have to make your own decision about what is working or not working for your child. Sorry to be not much help! Sue (from Pickering) Mom to , 4, formerly? ASD, SCD almost 1 year.
Guest guest
Hi , Sue is right. We are pioneers in unexplored territory and there is a lot that we still do not know. However, we are learning new things every day on this list because the parents are so helpful with each other. Here are some ideas: Give activated charcoal (not during meal time) Look for any signs of progress, that is a sign that the yogurt might be helpful. Decrease the dose of yogurt. If the regression lasts over a month or the symtoms make you uncomfortable, then you should wait until further gut healing takes place before giving any more yogurt. We respect parents right to decide to not use the yogurt. The most reassuring thing is that NONE of the posts on this list have ever reported a permanent regression because of the SCD dairy. All the children who tried the goat yogurt and had a bad reaction returned to their previous state. Our worst case was a child who improved with a small amount of yogurt but regressed when the mom increased the dose. That regression lasted about 3 weeks but most regressions last less than a week. Casein, unlike gluten, leaves the body very quickly. Both my kids do very well with the goat yogurt and the legal goat cheeses, I make sure that they get it every day. All the best,Mimi . > Hi , > > You'll get varying responses to this. Guest guest
" We respect parents right to decide to not use the yogurt. " Please, if you decide to NOT use the goat's, switch to nut yoghurt. The making is just as easy. The benefits are the same! Marjan
