Guest guest
Hi , The adjustments you mentioned that your orthotist made to your son's Starband sound strange to me, but perhaps someone more knowledgeable here at the group with band experience can speak to what is normally expected. We used aggressive repositioning only to treat our daughter Remy's plagio/brachy, so I don't have any personal experience! I want to post to you to tell you that we have several members who have gone to Bill Barringer in OKC for treatment. From what I have read, he is an extremely experienced orthotist, and the parents have been very happy with him. His facility is listed in the HELMET/BAND DATABASE in the DATABASE section of the group, if you are interested in his info, as well as the email addresses of group members who have been there. I put OK in the subject header in hopes of getting the attention of anyone in your area - maybe there will be someone who has experience at your same facility, and could provide you with some feedback on their care there. Tulsa has 2 orthotists and OKC (3 hours) has one. Both of the places in Tulsa have less experience than I would like. I am not really sure about the place in OKC. The wrong information I am talking about is he said he could go in the pool or bath with his helmet. He didn't know what to do about a heat rash, except say it would probably go away. He was pretty relaxed about the time period adjustments in the beginning. He did give me written instructions that contradicted all of that and that is what I have been following. I do feel like he made a good casting. I don't know. I just like to follow instructions to a T, especially when it comes to my son. > > > > Re: loose helmet adjustment > > > Hi , > I didn't have a starband, let alone an active band, so I am not the > person to address this.
