Guest guest
Hi, When one makes pear juice, do you have to cook the pears until they are mush and then put through a sieve? Or do you make pear juice with raw pears in a juicer? If you make juice with raw fruits (or veggies)then I assume you need to be on SCD for a while before you can make juices out of raw vegetables. Guest guest
Becky, Elaine has said that you can have raw juice about a week after starting SCD. You should make the juice with a juicer. Juices made with Vitamix contain the difficult to digest cell walls,so you have to wait a while before serving juices made with Vitamix. Raw juices are a very healthy food and I want to encourage all of you to drink raw juices. Guest guest
Hi Jzin, Here are some juice recipes from Angie McCauley. Cool cooler 4 whole carrots peeled 1 green apple cored and sliced (optional) 1 stalk of celery 1/4 of a cucumber 1/2 of a lemon peeled 1 clove of garlic peeled (optional if you can get it in) A great antifungal A couple of drops of liquid stevia if needed , I use stevita liquid , or sweet leaf stevia clear add water to dilute juices , start out with 2 ounces of the e fresh vegetable juice (From Mimi: I prefer honey instead of stevia) Alkalizing healing juice 3 carrots peeled 1 green apple cored and sliced (optional) 1/2 cup of fresh broccoli small handful of parsley 1/2 of a lemon peeled 1 clove of garlic peeled (optional if you can get in in) a couple drops of stevia to sweeten if needed (From Mimi: I prefer honey instead of stevia but I know that there are a few children who do not tolerate honey) > Are the following juices OK? > We have only done our SCD intro diet since 2/23 > raw carrots > raw celery > raw pear? Yes,these juices would be OK if there is no digestive distress. All the best,Mimi
