Guest guest
Hi Maureen, I'm so glad to hear that Jim is cancer free. Being relatively new to the group, I have to tell you how much I admire you, and your husband. I'm not a real wealth of knowledge like many of the other supporters but I felt it was important to let you know that I had significant problems with azulfadine about 12 years ago. I don't know whether the drug has been improved or not, but I experienced some renal failure due to it. I have been on asacol ever since. I was on the medication for a long time so it may have just caught up with me. After having gone through a renal angiogram and aspiration to help understand my kidney failure(50%), I read an excerpt from an IBD news letter suggesting this potential side effect. After changing to asacol my kidney function returned to normal. I'm sure they check Jim's creatanin(spell), but I felt it was worth noting. I know you don't need anything else to worry about. Enjoy your harp when it arrives. Omaha Tim uc/64 psc/
