Hey ,

I'm so glad to hear Cole is doing so well. You are so right about all

the worrying we did, I feel the same way. Aidan is even getting his

first tooth this week and he's still the same baby. At least we can

take a great big sigh of relief now!

Ooooh your baby is going to preschool! So cute!

,

This is just fantastic to hear. It sounds like Cole's banding

experience has so far been the best case scenario possible, and I'm

so pleased for you all! Such a good fit so soon will hopefully

translate into some quick correction.

Keep us updated on how his adjustment appointments are going!

Hi I am new to this group as of today. Your post caught my eye

because my baby's name is Cole as well! He is 6 1/2 months old and

we have our first appointment with Cranial Technologies next week.

I already know that Cole will probably need to be banded. I am so

nervous, upset, and a bit emotional about this. I feel that our

peds were not proactive about this condition at all and I am

literally doing everything on my own to learn more about dealing

with Plagio. I just wish we would have been more informed from the

get-go. I am happy to hear your Cole is doing well with the band.

I am sure you will be seeing me on the chat boards for support and

postings!

New to this,

Deidra

Let me know the age of your Cole.

Hi Deidra,

Welcome to the group. Our ped. wasn't much help either, in fact not

at all. This group is where I have learned everything I know about

Plagio. I was lucky enough to find this group fairly early so the

parents here have helped me every step of the way. Cranial

Technologies is an excellent. Many of babies here have DOCbands from

CT, and I am sure that many of the parents who use CT will be able

to help you with any questions you may have about them. Also, where

are you located, and what CT will you be going to? We may have other

members who are in your area and use the same CT. Do you ahve a Rx

for a band yet? I do know that CT has to have a Rx to be able to

give your Cole a DOCband, if you do not already have one ask at CT

if they can recommend a craniofacial specialist or a neurosurgion in

your area that may give you the Rx. We also have a list of doctors

here, you may be able to find one in your area. Look

under " database " then referring Drs address and phone #'s " . I hope

this info helps you some. I know that CT will be honest with you, if

Cole does not need to be banded they will tell you so, and if they

think he will get correction from banding they will tell you so. I

know one of my main concerns with the evaluation was if the person

doing the eval. was only telling me he needed banded to make money.

We are not using CT with our Cole though, due to travel time and

insurance, but I did have alot of contact with CT before we decided

to go with the STARband, and I loved them. My Cole will be 8 months

on the 11th of this month, we started the whole process of trying to

get him banded right before he turned 5 months, so it has been a

long process already. Getting the band was the hard part though, now

that Cole is wearing his band 23 hours a day there isn't much to it.

Good luck next week at CT, and please keep us posted as to how Cole

is doing and what CT has to say.
