GF Challah Recipe

Our daughter also attended a (wonderful) Jewish pre-school when we

were in San Diego and they would have bagels with the rabbi weekly.

(we ordered GF bagels from www.EnjoyLifeFoods.com, and from

www.Kinnikinnick.com). I would also make GF challah and GF honey

cake, GF apple cake from time to time.

I have been using the Bob's Red Mill Bread Mix to make GF Challah.

There are only a few wet ingredients that you need to have on hand

to make it. I also use a braided loaf pan (I think mine is made by

ECKO????), and I also let it rise in that pan for the amount of time

that the Bob's Red Mill package states. It turns out well. We

slice it a few days later for sandwiches, and if there's any left

after 3-4 days, I will use it slice it and make GF French Toast and

GF French Toast Sticks (and then freeze them).

I have a few other GF Challah recipes if anyone is interested, let

me know.

I am definately interested! I can't seem to find Bob's bread mix,

only his individual flours. Any recipe would be very

appreciated. By any chance do you have a good matzoh ball

recipe? The one I've been using from ' cookbook tastes

good but is not well formed and it's mushy.

Thanks!

I would love some other Challah recipes too. I tried one I got from

a Chicago newspaper and it didn't turn out well. So, the more I

know, the better off I am.

Thank you!

I will get the GF Challah recipes posted within the next week or so.

I have never made GF Matzoh Balls, but I will see if I happen to

have a recipe for that too.

I did try to make GF Matzoh/Matzah Crackers once and I thought they

were a flop. They looked bad and didn't taste all that great... but

we all ate them anyway. (they looked and tasted like uneven

cardboard....) :)
