Guest guest
Our hospital currently provides PT services 8 to 4:30 7 days/week. Inpatient staff work M-F and rotate thru weekend coverage. Outpatient and Home Health staff are also required to work on our weekend rotation. We are looking into transitioning to a different scheduling module for the inpatient therapists to help improve the continuity of care for our patients on the weekends, and to decrease the amount of time off (and revenue lost) that results when Outpatient and Home Health therapists are scheduled off on weekdays as compensation for working the weekend. We didn't want to " re-invent the wheel " and are looking for information on alternative scheduling systems that may be in use in other organizations where inpatient coverage is required. Thanks in advance for any input. You may contact me directly at: Koplin, PT Supervisor Augusta Medical Center Fishersville, VA nkoplin@... Guest guest
, We experienced the same problems.? We offerd the opportunity for premium overtime to?therapists for their extra weekend days.? In effect they choose not to take a day off during the week and we pay a premium for their extra time.? This has worked well for staff because they do so at their choice and our patients benefit.
