I've just sent off my letter to ACA regarding , I urge everyone

else who feels as strongly about it as and I do to do the

same.

Here is my letter.

(ACA 27/07/00) is not along in his fight against obesity and

there are many others who are in the same situation.

For Dr Sid to make the comments that he did just goes to show

the problems that we face with some medical staff. In melbourne there

are a large number of surgeons (including Professor O'Brien) who

work at the same facility as Dr and everyday perform surgery to

help people like .

In Brisbane recently Dr Fielding of the Wesley operated on a

man who was over 350kg, this person has lost over 100kg since the

operation with the fitment of a lapband.

I have lost nearly 40kg since having my lapband fitted and I could

never have done this without this life saving surgery and the support

of others who have been and are going through the same ordeal.

We have an established support group in all states that be contacted

through our website at http://www.ozband.com

I would really like you to pass this along to and his mother so

that they know that they are not alone in what they are going through

and that there is hope out there for him. He justs needs to speak to

the right people who CAN help him.

It is no wonder that his mother has reached the levels of despire that

she has when she has to deal with Doctors like Sid . He is a

disgrace to his profession and it's unfortunate that many obese people

are treated this way. We have laws against all sorts of discrimination

but not weight.

Once again please make sure that is given our details and those

of Professor O'Briens because he can be helped and he and his mother

need not give up.
