I don't think all DAN! docs run the test or are familiar with

it.

When we got our positive Anne Connolly we were prescribed

Spironolactone. A positive result indicates a possible LKS or LKS Variant.

Subject: Explanation for Anne Connolly test?

Hi all,

Would someone be willing to explain the Anne Connolly blood test to me? Quick

background: Our now 5 year old son had a massive language loss in Dec of '08, a

full 16 months after his autism diagnosis and early intervention, biomedical,

etc. We have never been able to discover why, although it coincided with a

nasty virus. We have had an EEG to rule out Landau-Kleffner, and an MRI, both

of which were normal. We haven't fully ruled out seizures, but our trial run of

Lamictal was a disaster, so we are looking for other things. We have seen some

fever activity and rashiness while on Lauricidin/Nystatin, and we have some

Valtrex in the cupboard ready to roll once extended school year has ended and

before kindergarten starts. In the meantime, I'm really interested in the Anne

Connolly blood test, like where to get it done or if there is a test kit to

use, etc., and if we have a positive result (is it for Landau-Kleffner?), where

do we go from there? How do we utilize that information? We have a DAN

appointment on July 1st, so I'd like to be able to request it and know what I'm

talking about.

Thanks in advance!

Same here. I wish we never would have done this test. All it did for us was

give us heartache. Our DAN acted like it was devastating news and we were

devastated. Now I only do tests that I can do something with afterwards. In

other words other testing showed inflammation so our dr was going to prescribe

the spiro and hbot anyway. Adding this test didn't change that. Spiro didn't

do anything for us so then they put us on actos which didn't do anything for us

either.
