We never used strollers with our kids: perambulators

(buggies) or back carriers. I swear solemnly that we

never once "folded" our children!

(could not resist!),

Cheers!

LoL! n! Lol.lol. Do you mean like an old fasion buggie? Like the

carriage stroller? We picked one up about a yr ago at a yard sale for

20 bucks! Got it for my sis but she did not appreciate it or like it.

Shes the young generation. Hehe. Anyway, the lady had it stored for

like 30 yrs and her parents had pushed her around in it when she was a

baby. Reminds me of Rosemarys baby. Its very nice and made in Italy.

Couldnt find any prices out YET but emailed a lady selling a similiar

type on ebay but hers was made here. They are so neat! Kinda bigger

then the newer strollers but definetly 1 of a kind. No way we would

fold up our children in this.hehe.

Yes, I meant the truly old-fashioned buggies

then called "perambulators." Higher up than

a grocery cart--above the waist of the adult

pushing said stalwart vehicle. The big advantage

to them was that they were little beds and baby

could just fall asleep and actually nap in the

buggie. And so far as safety goes, no chance

of some impaired driver not seeing that tiny

little stroller way down on the ground, and hitting

the baby! I have seen these, usually manufactured

in Europe at Saks Fifth Avenue Stores, Marshall-

Field in Chicago, Macy's and even Nordstrom's

department stores.

Sorry, I just could not resist the line about not having

"folded" the children--honest, I really did know what

was intended!

Love to you all,

n, tittering just a bit, but still traumatized by those

strollers being pushed ahead of the taller adult, and

those little kids way down almost on the pavement.

Terrifies my car, Marco Polo!

LoL n! Your funny! The one we have the base part comes off and

looks like a lil boat. My baby neice has actually slept in just the

boat(carriage) part before. When she was smaller and her and my sister

would sleep over. She was so tiny everyone was worried they would roll

on her and crush her but there was no way of rolling over this big ol

piece of plastic. Or her rolling off.:) It takes up so much room but I

like it so much I cannot part. For a time, almost though.lol. I seen

alot on ebay, not as good of condition either for 300$ at the cheapest.

There is no way a car would miss this buggy. It is almost the size of a

small sport car.lol. At least the size of my scooter, maybe a lil

bigger. Maybe thats how everyone stayed in shape.hehe.;) It is

incredibly hard to maneuver(so big) and im thinking it took lots of

muscles for mothers to push there lil ones in it. Some of the stroller

carts are scary.I remember 1 time we were shopping and 1 of my

daughters were in one.She had a little hissy fit and used her

Plastic? I have seen those British perambulators

(aka "buggies") at Saks Fifth Avenue in San Fran

cisco. No platic: stainless steel, real leather, cot

ton filled mattress, more like a baby version of

a limousine, only taller and higher. Complete

with light and horn--yet! My own mother actually

had one of these (1937) in Grosse Pointe, MI.

When I first saw little kids in strollers, I thought

that all the kids were handicapped in some way

and that these were some kind of miniature little

"wheel chairs" for them. Of course, this illusion

was furthered by the fact that all four of my own

kids walked at nine months and ran by ten months.

Me? Hey! I was premature; I walked at 16 months.

Heaps of family photos of me in my "buggy."

n, who is obviously up way too late, getting

a little strange. . . .

Love to you all, M.~

You mean something like this:http://www.emmaljunga.com/or this:http://www.sleepyhollowcanada.com/manufacturers/brio/brioduo.htmlIn Sweden that's the way strollers/prams look. In other words, to me those are not "big" or "tall" - it's the other kind(s) that are "tiny". It really depends on the perspective... Those "tiny" ones with the really small wheels is something you can see tourists use in Sweden, but never anyone actually living here. Most swedes refers to the "tiny" models as "continental" - conveying the thought that they may work in continental Europe, or at least southern parts of continental Europe, where snow and sleet is not an issue. The big wheels and high strollers/prams are necessary to be able to manage/steer a stroller in the Swedish winters (and to avoid having the infant or child covered in snow when passing through/over drifts of it...).Thanks for insights into other ways of seeing things!love/Reb> > From: Smyelin groovy & lt;smyelingroovy@ yahoo.com & gt;> Subject: In Honor of Dopey People> To: "MSersLife" & lt;MSersLife@ yahoogrou ps.com & gt;> Date: Tuesday, June 3, 2008, 3:24 PM> > Hmm... my favorite, and the most disconcerting, is the last.> > ~~> > In Honour of Dopey People . . .> > Here are some actual label instructions on consumer goods.> > On Tesco's Tiramisu dessert (printed on bottom) --> "Do not turn upside down."> > ============ ========= =====> > On Sainsbury's peanuts --> "Warning: contains nuts."> > ============ ========= ======> > On Boot's Children Cough Medicine --> "Do not drive a car or operate machinery after taking> this medication."> (We could do a lot to reduce the rate of construction accidents if we> could just get those 5> year-olds with head-colds off those bulldozers.)> > ============ ========= =====> > On Marks & Spencer Bread Pudding --> "Product will be hot after heating."> > ============ ========= ==> > On a Sears hairdryer --> Do not use while sleeping.> > ============ ========= ========= ======> > On a bag of Fritos --> You could be a winner! a buggy. Would love to see your pics if you have any! I just think

these buggy/carriages are so incredibly neat! And if by some chance I

get better I want to have a baby,a boy. And he will have a buggy and a

moses basket.:) i love unique or one of a kind anything! Even if theres

a million in factory.hehe.

Re: One more In Honor of Dopey People/ folding children

Plastic? I have seen those British perambulators

(aka " buggies " ) at Saks Fifth Avenue in San Fran

" wheel chairs " for them. Of course, this illusion

was furthered by the fact that all four of my own

kids walked at nine months and ran by ten months.

Me? Hey! I waspremature; I walked at 16 months.

Heaps of family photos of me in my " buggy. "

n, who is obviously up way too late, getting

a little strange. . . .

Love to you all, M.~

Hmm... my favorite, and the most disconcerting, is the last.
