Guest guest
We just made a sort of major investment in our GF kitchen, but are so thrilled with it, we wanted to share it. We traveled at Thanksgiving and stayed in a hotel with free breakfast, including the make-them-yourself Belgian Waffles. My GF son, of course could not have any and they looked wonderful. I did not try them, in order that he would not be the only one at the table not eating them, but they looked great and my other kids and husband said they were as good as they looked. We have been really happy with Sylvan Border Farms Pancake mix - tastes like the Bisquik Buttermilk type - and they have a waffle recipe that goes with the mix. When we got home, I checked online and found out that you can buy a " restaurant quality " Belgian Waffle Maker by Waring " Pro " at Bed, Bath and Beyond - and I had a 20% off coupon. It was about $65 after the discount. The waffles are terrific - my kids said they are as good, if not better than the gluten version they had at the hotel. Our whole family loves them. It is my husbands 49th b-day today (he is not on the GF diet) and guess what he asked for for breakfast....Gluten-Free Belgian Waffles. It is a big investment, but has been worth it for us, with tasty bread-like foods being kind of hard to come by. I thought I would pass it along in time to get it on your holiday wish lists! Happy Holidays, in FL
