Patty now wears transition lenses and I like them better. Costs less too

than prescription glasses and prescription sunglasses.

Hats are just as important.

we have transitions and still not strong enough in direct sun. I was thinking

of trying something like the Oakley wrap arounds and putting in reg.

prescription lenses. The side light really can hurt. ps transitions in plastic

designer frames were close to 400 dollars so they were not a cheaper option by

any

means. marisa

Aubrie does great with transition lenses. She's had them for several

years. At first, the eye dr didn't recommend them cuz he thought she

wouldn't deal with the adjustment time, would have a hard time with

coming in from outside with the darkness and her balance issues, etc.

But the optician and I decided to try it. We could do it on a trial

basis and go back to clip on sunglasses if we needed to. So -- we did

it and it's great!! I wouldn't go back to separate sunglasses.

Hello,

My name is and I am a mother of an undiagnosed child. I have

joined the group to gain similar things our children may share. My

son is 2 1/2 and has worn glasses since he was 4 months. I have

always purchased the transitional lenses for him...which he seems to

love. He was always sensitive to light so I thought they maybe good

for him...they work great!

Good luck,

My daugter has worn sunglasses outside since she was about one. She

can't stand the direct sunlight and would bury her face in my

shoulder and cry. I bought some children's sunglasses at the store

and she kept them on pretty quickly. Like any baby she took them

off the first few times but soon figured out they help her. She now

wears corrective lenses and we got the transition lenses. We got

the darkest ones. I have found that although they change quickly

from dark to light it takes longer outside and they don't get as

dark as they advertised. I haven't decided what to do about the

summer. For now the transition lenses and a floppy hat or a ball

cap keeps her happy. Hope this helps.

,

MacKenzie had Transition lenses for a time, but they simply didn't get dark

enough. She now has regular rx sunglasses with the darkest tint possible.

She also always wears a wide brimmed hat to prevent the sun from coming

over top of her glasses.

wears baseball caps alot -

it is actually in his IEP that he is allowed to wear them when outdoors at

school, however he doesn't like to bother as the teachers on recess duty don't

know and tell him to take it off, plus the other kids aren't allowed so he

stands out. But it is nice to know if he wanted to, he could wear one.

We were thinking of getting the transition glasses since he wears

regular corrective glasses presently, but not sure how the children react to

them. does not wear corrective glasses like Matt so we were just going

to purchase child-friendly sunglasses because the sun is really affecting

them outside. Would love any feedback or suggestions.
