Hi Robin,

I was able to find the information on Tanner's helmet from the

information in your post. Here is the oandpinc.com website link to

the O & P Cranial Helmet:

O & P Lab, Inc.com: O & P Cranial Molding Helmet

http://www.oandplabinc.com/productsdetail.asp?ProductID=4

I also recognized the name of this helmet, so I double-checked, and

it was FDA approved in 2002. O & P Lab, inc. describes their helmet

as " passive " and a " Clarren Style Helmet: "

O & P Cranial Molding Helmet FDA Approval Application

O & P Cranial Molding Helmets work in two ways. The first way is that

the helmet fits

close to the head where the head sticks out, and loosely over the

flattened area. The skull will

grow into the loose area of the helmet, allowing the flattened parts

of the head to " catch up " with

the prominent areas. This type of helmet is known as a " passive "

or " Clarren style " helmet.

I didn't notice that we DID have this company listed in the

Helmet/Band Database in the Database section of the group under the

location in " Webster Grove " Missouri, the city listed on their FDA

approval paperwork, so I did edit our existing info to show that the

city is actually St. Louis. Tanner's helmet resembles the Danmar

helmet (which also has vent holes in it,) but looks to be a bit

thicker than the Danmar. You can see a picture of the Danmar in the

Files/Helmet and Band Brand Photos folder of the group.

Unfortunately, I haven't read any posts so far of anyone in the

group who has used the O & P Cranial Helmet before (it would have been

nice to have some treatment protocol feedback.) We have had other

group members use passive helmet, however, and I just want to

reiterate that I have read that appts. are about every 4 weeks or

so, and none of the parents pad their own helmet. Does your helmet

have a chin strap? Did you mean to say in your previous post that

your next appt. was JUNE 15th, and not JULY 15th?
