Guest guest
Wow Krissy, I'm totally impressed! I love how you decorated his helmet! You must get a ton of compliments on it. Also, I really see some progress in his head! You must be very excited when looking at those pics. He has certainly gained some length in the back. His eyes are incredible by the way--that picture of him in his space shuttle is amazing! Great job . , mom to Hannah, DOCband #3 3/30 Cape Cod, Ma > Hi Everyone- > > I just posted some photos of . Guest guest
Krissy, 's helmet is too cool...I LOVE IT!! You did a great job, and he is georgeous. You are from Florida right? If you don't mind me asking where do you go for his Starband? I'm also from Florida so I am just trying to explore all options before making the final decision to go with CT in Miami. The Orlando and Tampa areas are closer to us, but so far I am convinced that CT is worth the drive. I just would like to know where you are using and your opinion on them. Thanks. > > Hi Everyone- > > > > I just posted some photos of . ( ph Album). I have > photos of his head after > > 1 month and his new stickers on his helmet. Guest guest
Hi Amy- We ordered them at Nasa Space Shop online. They don't have much of a selection, but we thought it was pretty cool. The shuttle sticker is a memorial sticker of the shuttle we just lost last year. It has all the Astronauts names on it. I am hoping when this is done, we will get an autograph from Glenn or Neil Armstrong. I think it would be something for to have for the future. It would be cool if there was an autograph of a real astronaut on the helmet. I will keep you posted. I am trying to find how to contact these Astronauts. Guest guest
Hi - Thanks for the compliments. Do you have photos up of your child? I haven't been keeping up with your story. We live in Palm Harbor Fl, which is a suburb of Tampa. We have had a bad experience at first with Starband because the Orthotist was horrible. It was not Starband's fault but the Orthotist we went to. To make a long story short. I am EXTREMELY happy with our Starband helmet because of the 3-d scanning we had at Steve 's office in Orlando and Ellie my Orthotist in Tampa. I recommend doing the scan since we experienced both. The plaster casting is horrible and VERY stressful. The 3-d scanner is quick (2 seconds) and gets the perfect fit measurement of the head than depending on human error. The Orthotist we see for fittings is Ellie at Westcoast Brace and Limb. She is excellent and so sweet. loves her and she loves . It is always a wonderful experience when we see her. has had some nice rounding for just being in his helmet for 1 month. There are about 6 other mothers that take their children to Ellie. The office is off of Fletcher on Rte 275 near USF and Moffit Center. Where do you live? If you live in Orlando area, I would go to . If I lived near Tampa - then I would see Ellie. I am glad I didn't switch to CT. The travel is an hour and 5 minutes for us to Tampa. It would really stink having to go to Miami because of the distance. The good thing about Starband is they have more foam in the helmet, so children don't grow out of the helmet too soon and I don't think CT in Miami has a 3-d scanner for casting. It is up to you. I hear CT in Miami is wonderful. I spoke to many mom's who have gone there because we were on the fence about giving Orthomerica another chance. We are glad we made our decision to stay in the area and use Starband therapy. If you would like to call me - please give me your email address and I will email you my phone number. Guest guest
Thanks Christie- It is a really cute walker. I laugh when I see him in the walker because he really looks like an astronaut in training! LOL with all the funny sounds and noises. Guest guest
Thanks Sue- We went to the Orthotist today and has had no addition growth on the sides of his head. YEAH! And total in a month his head has grow 1.2 cm. I think the helmet works! It also has gotten to be less medicinal because of the stickers. Keep us posted with Colin!
