Guest guest
Thank you for your kind words. My hair has started thining just two days ago, today is more than yesterday and I guess tomorrow more. I am ready I think. I wore my wig to the mall yesterday as a trial run, it was not so bad. I hope you are having a great turkey day. Ren

I'm curious because I'll be having my first treatment (A/C) on Tuesday. I'm getting a little nervous and anxious about it. Thanks for any info. Guest guest
Lynn, I did not actually have chemo. BUT -- have listened a lot to the others here that did. I have read every message since last August. The general concensus, I believe, is that (1) Statistically, women over 50 have an easier time (without nausea), (2) With all women (young or old) it is completely individual -- you may have little or no symptoms at all; (3) You can rely on medications to fight the nausea and the best ones I heard of are Emend and Kytril, which are taken in some sort of combination. I THINK (not sure - find out from doctor) you take Emend right before your treatment and Kytril for 1 or 2 days after. I do believe you MUST start the med BEFORE the treatment for it to work. It is expensive, but free samples may be available at your doctor's office. The time to ask is probably NOW, so you can start the first dose right before your first treatment. I know you will get through it and put it behind you and my prayers are with you that you have the best possible outcome. Janie > > Thank you for your kind words. Guest guest
Hi Janie, Thanks for the info. I do have a prescription for Emend, and yes, it is expensive. $317 dollars for 3 pills! Thankfully, my co-pay was only $6. In addition, I have two other scripst, one for compazine and one for decadron. All anti-nausea. I was told to bring all three with me for my fist session. I guess I'll get detailed instructions then. I wish I were on my last session instead of my first. Lynn > > > Thank you for your kind words.
