I hope you get this before you go off the computer but being new to this group don't know you as little sis or or anyone, just wanted to tell you that I am so sorry and so sad that you were treated so badly. I always surprises me how cruel and vindictive humans can be. Please take care and do hope you find out who did this and come back to this "new" group, at least for me anyway.

I realize there are steps to take to unsubscribe, but decided to use this route for an obvious reason. Today someone used my AOL screenname and established an AIM (or away instant messenger) using my screenname. When I logged on I received an instant messenge from AOL letting me know that I was logged in twice at the same time. I may be accused of a lot of things, but being schizo is not one of them. More than likely, someone from one of the groups of which I am a member got bored. Whatever those issues might be, I simply WILL NOT allow my privacy to be invaded. Obviously I have changed all the passwords on my computer, and will be changing my screenname as well. I am also unsubscribing from all groups I am a member of. To all the members of this group, I wish you well. At another time (and under a different screenname), I will return. In the meantime, I suppose I should make an effort to get my rage at this invasion under control. (aka the Little Sis)

nancy no one can do this unless they have your permission. For instance my grandaughter has 2 hrs per day she can sign on through my aol account through another site and it tells me when I try to sign on that she is on right then. Either that person has another screen name on your account with your permission or you have given them your pass word. To check it, chnage your pass word immediately

Hi , Gee sorry to hear that you have to leave us for now. I have enjoyed your messages alot. I hope that you can return even if it is under a new name. We will miss you. Take care and have a good night. By the way, I had a similar problem after I joined this group too. All of a sudden someone that I did not know was on my MSN Instant Messenger. What I did was block that name and remove it from my buddy list. I have no idea how this person got on my buddy list at all, but I do agree with you that this person must have nothing better to do with their time but to just bug someone else. Well, I hope everything gets straightened out for you. TAke care and have a good night. Hugs, babs Please unsubscribe me, Deb . .. . To clarify, no one has permission to use my account. I have obviously not provided my password to anyone. It is my account, and no other screen names but mine are attached to my account. What alerted me to the issue was today when I signed on, I received an automatic message from the AOL server notifying me I was signed on at a remote location. I had to immediately change my password, and wanted confirmation of the old password. In requesting my own password, AOL would not provide it to me. Why? Because "too many requests for the password" had been made in the last 24 hours. It was obviously something that took a bit of effort.

My point here is you should not automatically assume someone cannot access your information unless you have provided that access in some form. I am still outraged that anyone would dare violate my privacy and threaten my security. This happened today around 3:00, and I am still as angry now as I was at that time.

- I'm incredulous that someone would do this to a member of the group. It sure makes me hesitant to give ouut my ID. You will be missed and I wish you well. To others,,,Is there anything we can do to prevent this from happening again (not that it makes things any better for ) ? Take care - BarbaraTom Nation wrote:

Hi , Yes I know how you feel and I hope this reaches you before you have left the group. This type of thing happen to me last spring. But I didnt blame anyone in the groups for this, because I was told by aol and other computer people that it isn't that hard to get someone's pass word even though I have Nortons and another protection from something that my cousin gave me to put on my puter. I got it straighten out and yes I was quite worried about the spam and porn mail that aol said that was sent from my screen name in the time span that I was away from my computer. So I felt very violated and I am sure you might feel the same. Please consider returning as soon as you get things straighten out and feel comfortable again...

Best Wishes,
