regarding ear infection and dry cough- HELP

Hi Amita,

When my daughter had bad ears I put a couple of drops of Hydrogen peroxide

in it. I tilted her head to one side and placed a warm cloth over it.

After about 5 - 7 minutes (the peroxide bubbles in the ear, sounds like

popcorn being made) when the bubbling subsides, I tilt her head the other

way until it comes out. It seems that most ear infections are viral anyway.

If her ears were very bad I repeated the treatment about an hour later. The

peroxide treatment worked immediately for her.

Will he drink hot water with lemon and honey for the cough?

Air borne Allergy symptoms perhaps? My oldest son has allergies/asthma sort

of. One of the first symptoms is a dry cough. It is the lungs reaction to

protect the lungs from the allergens. When he gets that we treat

immediately to prevent it from going further. You can use nasal crom (over

the counter) 3 times a day, nasal spray. It is not systemic, stays in the

nose. Takes up to 2 weeks to work. My son is now on a prescription nasal

steroid (tends to work within a day or two) for allergy season as he had a

bad episode in early February (I live in NC and allergy season starts early)

and we felt we needed more. Hope to back him off to non prescription in the

future.

I wanted to share with you what worked to decrease my boys'

allergy symptoms to the point where they are no longer on

antihistamins and my younger son, who had been on inhalers,

no longer needs them. My husband, who was a life-long allergy

sufferer, was also able to go off all antihistamines.

We started using MSM.

My boys (age 7-weight 50 pounds and age 5-40 pounds) take

1000mg during high allergy season and they take 500mg during

the low allergy season.

We initially had to use higher doses (2000 during high allergy,

1000 low allergy), but over time we have been able to give less

and maintain control.
