Guest guest
Dear Cristal, I am very happy to hear that April's neph lowered her prednisone daily intake. It must have been probably becouse that April's lab tests' results are more stabile. It's really great news !!! You have informed us before that your sweet daughter has gained some weight becouse of this medication, so I do hope all will get back to normal soon... Please give April the hug from me, Elvira In iga-nephropathy , " crystal_sloan2003 " <cryslo864@a...> wrote: > Hello everyone,,,,,just wanted to let everyone know how aprils appt > went this morning,,,,last month the dr lowered her prednisone from > 30mg to 20,,and today he went on down to 15mg every other day,,,and > she is no longer on sodium bicarbs either,,,her protein in urine was > still at 1+,,and blood in urine is still at 3+,,,and she still has to > go monthly to see the dr,,,,thanks for listening,,,,,Crystal
Guest guest
Hi Crystal, Thanks for letting us know about April's lab numbers ( and April seem to be on a similar schedule - just came back from his labs this morning). I'm sorry to hear there was no great change in her numbers. However, hopefully, as they lower her pred dose, it will be easier for her to lose the weight she's put on - at that, at least, will be a thing of the past. What is April doing this summer? Whatever it is, I hope she's enjoying her summer break. Guest guest
Crystal, I bet you and april are thrilled to get her prednisone lowered. I know it can have annoying side effects. How does her creatinine look? You are in my thoughts and prayers like always. Guest guest
Crystal, What a blessing that April's treatment has brought her level down to 0.8. That is a perfect level.

Guest guest
Crystal, I am not a doctor, but I am 5 feet 6.5 inches and I weight 120, and my ideal normal creatinine before IgAN took its toll was 0.8. I find it hard to believe April's normal would be 0.5, but then again I am not a doctor. The more muscle mass you have, the higher " normal " creatinine you would have. That is why a baseline for most males is higher than for most females, at least as a general rule of thumb. If she is 179 pounds, I would think that 0.8 is excellent. Again, I am not a doctor, so this is only my layman's opinion.
Guest guest
,,,that is what i thought also,,,,i thought 0.8 was great,,,,,and they said her protein in urine was a trace,,,by usining the dip stick,,,,Crystal
