Guest guest
Dear Connie, Thanks for your post. My daughter (Bethan) is fine now following a course of antibiotics. The specialist has decided not to carry out the biopsy yet, as he considers that it will not alter the clinical management of her condition. He has stated that he wants to wait until several signs are present at once, before arranging the biopsy, as he feels that it is quite an invasive process for a child so young. It appears that there are several types of Glomerulonephritis (Spelling?) and that the biopsy will only confirm which type it is. The specialist states that he is 95% sure that it is IgA, but said that he has not seen it in a child so young – Is this unusual? Anyway, thanks for your interest and I would be very grateful for any further information regarding Iga. Regards,
