Emptying The Tank for OS Trips

Nadia,

Don't do it. Maybe for darkest Africa. Not for the US. Unless you have

trouble normally with air/car sickness and nausea, you're only leaving

yourself wide open ... literally ... to pile on the pounds. Think of where

you're going ... all the doughnuts, the ice cream, the fast food, the

meatball hero subs, the NY style pizza, the shrimp gumbo .... I think I

just put on a kilo having a gastro fantasy there ... Seriously. I went OS

three times with the band ... twice I had the tank emptied and put on 8 - 9

kilos in 4 weeks. The third time I just left well enough alone and coped

much as I do here. I'd say unless you've had some sort of episode here that

caused concern, just travel with a full band. Peace of mind is going to

cost you big time when you get back. As part of your logistics, take the

little colour travel card and all of the telephone numbers ... even the Prof

will give you his mobile if you ask ... and even take one of the special

needles like did to Fiji a couple of years back. Then enjoy your

trip.
