Hi everyone,

Shona and Amy, I hope both are you are feeling better quite soon. I was lucky and didn't suffer any nausea, but I was only allowed certain fluids and limited amounts at first and then I had to build it up. I started with a shot glass of water over 1/2 hour and then over 3 days I was allowed to have a little more and something else to drink but always slowly and gradually a little more at a time.

Cath, I will be there on Saturday and I'm looking forward to meeting everyone. Has anyone heard from lately?

Amy, I too live at Caboolture like Bruce, so if you can't make Saturday, maybe we can get together after you finish work one day. I sympathise with your problem with your gown, it made me smile as I had a similar problem and a lovely sister at the hospital found me a large wrap around one. Before my op I had to have a sanitising shower and then put on the gown and paper pants and the pants split (they were the largest). I was horrified at the time, but the sister arranged for me to go to theatre in my own. What they did when I was under is a mystery but I still had some dignity going in and I can smile about it now.

Bye for now,

Lois from North Brisbane

Lois,

If I can't make it Saturday, catching up would be great....but it's looking good at this stage..and I'm feeling so much better (mushy stage agreeing with me)..

With the paper pants, I was told not to even bother trying them on.... I had to go down with nothing on at all.....which made the gown not covering my back all that more revealing...but hopefully that is all in the past...

Cheers

Hi everyone,

a, sorry to hear your news. It is always a difficult time when one separates but believe me it gets better.

J I hope things improve for you also.

I had a good time at the Brizzy bandsters meeting even though I couldn't eat anything. I'm able to eat a little bit now. I have to take it easy and it took a week after my little binge to get to this stage and food never tasted so good.

I hope everyone has a safe and happy Easter, sorry this is a bit late,

Lois from North Brisbane

Hi everyone,

It's been very quiet on this list lately.

Congratulations to Bruce and Suzanne on your great weightloss'. It's a wonderful feeling when your clothes start getting looser.

Sheree, did you get my email that I sent you? I haven't heard back from you. I lost your original email to me and I had to go into the archives to get your email address and it was sent by onelist. You are welcome to email me again and I will answer any questions you might have.

bye for now,

Lois from North Brisbane

Hi everyone and welcome to Meredith,

Thankyou to everyone for your support and good wishes after I lost my job. I have to admit I've been feeling really sorry for myself this week and it's not going to be easy to find another job. I have been looking along with my daughter who is almost 16 for work. She is desperate to leave school (not the world's greatest student) but a lovely person and I agreed to let her leave if she finds a job. I think we both thought it would be easy for her being young but even though she types quite fast for her age (50-55wpm) and has some basic knowledge of word, excel etc she can't get a job either. So we are a fine pair.

Wayne, congratulations on your weightloss.

Lara, fantastic weightloss, congratulations.

,

I have tried Xenical and suffered from side effects and could hardly wait to get off them. I was part of a medical trial before they were released recently.

It seems like there are a lot of bandsters out there having problems at the moment. My thoughts are with all of you, Esther, , and if I've forgotten anyone, please forgive me.

Grace, I don't really know what to say, but if you're not sure, it's best to wait it out.

, how long have you had your band? Maybe you need a little more in it, although compared to me 4ml seems a lot but as I have said many times in the past, everyone is different.

Shona, I have always had trouble with my bowels and since having the band it has gotten worse. Mainly because it takes so long for the food to pass through. I usually take some medication if I can't go after a few days and my dietician said to drink lots of water too.

I pushed myself to go to the gym today, mainly because I was having a followup and I had to show them I was doing my workout properly. I went on Monday but couldn't motivate myself to go any other days. It's really stupid as I've still got to pay for it even if I don't go. Maybe next week will be better. I have been feeling really hungry lately and I'm pretty sure it's emotional as I really can't eat that much. I tend to eat when I'm upset. I'd like to visit my doctor but I can't afford it right now so I'm going to try and hold out until after my tax cheque comes back.

Bye for now,

Lois from Caboolture, Queensland

Sally - Well done on you breaking the 80kg barrier... Hope to join you one

day..

Kell - Good luck with your Op on Monday

Leanne - Maybe you could try a product called de-gas, you can pick them up

from the chemist (really cheap). The main ingredient is peppermint. I was

taking them for another band related reason just after my op and whether it

was coincidence or not, I never got the shoulder tip pain... (or you could see

if drinking peppermint tea helps).

Sharon - If you haven't received the names of doctors in Australia yet you can

go to the following link which lists them all.

http://www.ozband.com/surgery_surgeons.html

Dale - I'm sure the no alcohol rule in the booklet you have is for nutriential

& caloric intake as I have never been told this... I think the only thing you

would have to watch is if you have fizzy drinks or mixers (correct me if I'm

wrong anyone) as some people have problems with the bubbles..

Grace, Tracey, Cath & Dianne, It was great to see you all again..

Cheers

Amy Mac
