Guest guest
: Thanks for the response. I am sorry for what you have gone through and even though I feel that I am in a world of my own with all the problems I am having, realise there are quite a few others experiencing problems of some sort or another. I am beginning to psyche myself up just in case I need further surgery. God I hope not. My biggest fear is still that the band may have to come out, Dixon (my doctor) keeps telling me that the band is not suitable for everyone and I feel he is trying to break it to me slowly (this may be in my head as I am paranoid at the moment). On the other hand I keep telling myself that the first band was fine (until prolapse) so I argue with myself all the time. I hope all your problems sort themselves out and that in time all will be OK.
Guest guest
Sally, I was thinking exactly the same thing only I didn't want people to think I was just bitching because of what had happened. Kathy is really lovely, but at time very scatter brained. When I went for the first manometry and they couldn't get the tube through my nose the Gastro-Intestinal Unit phoned to talk to Dixon about it. Kathy took the message and just forgot about it. When Dixon mentioned it to her she simply said, " Oh yes they did phone. I forgot to tell you about it. " So far it has meant that I have wasted approx. 3 hours driving to the clinics, waiting around and then being told we will have to do it all over again. I know my problems are not Kathy's problems, but I really feel she is adding to the stress by taking a really blas é approach to it all. Maybe I should say something. What really gets to me is the fact that I always have to take so much unnecessary time off work and then go through all the waiting and wondering all over again. Well I have got that off my chest. Have a great day and I will let you know what transpires.
Guest guest
Thanks . And you are right. Frustrating is the word I would use, along with annoyed, peeved etc. etc.
Guest guest
Esther-- I am so sorry that you do not know any more now than you did before--You were on my mind all weekend--I was wondering how things went and hoping you were alright. It never occurred to me that you would not have gotten any info. How frustrating this must be for you! I am sending big ((((hugs)))) your way and I hope you get some information soon! Take care! Guest guest
Hi Esther, I'm really sorry to here about your misfortune. I'm feeling a bit blue myself today, and I havn't even been banded yet! My appointment with Dr this afternoon has been cancelled as he is sick. I'm so dissapointed as I had a mountain of questions to ask him. I've made another appointment next week. I hope your feeling better soon..... Guest guest
Thanks for the responses. It is good to have somewhere you vent your feelings, especially when you all understand. It is now 2.45pm and I have now gone 26 hours without anything. I know I will not fade away as I have plenty of reserves, however the thought of dehydration has crossed my mind. I am at the moment vomiting saliva which is accumulating (sorry for the graphics). I will wait to see what happens overnight and if I am still like this will reluctantly go to see . : the disappointing part is that we have been going very very slowly with my fills. I waited almost 3 months and then had .2 put in on Friday. I was going really well, even tolerating red meat and fresh bread. I even managed to eat a hot dog complete with roll and onions. I don't know how you tolerate being so tight, but I suppose it all boils down to how much we want to lose the weight. Just be careful and don't get sick. Diane: I know how you have to psych yourself up for an appointment like yours so I can understand the disappointment. Make sure you write down all your questions so as not forget anything. - I am so happy the band has finally kicked in. Go for it. Sally - Try to make our next meeting. It is ages since we have seen you. I have never actually met Noel and am interested as to why you ask. He didn't make a pass at you did he? Your termite problem has made me think it is time we had our termite protection done again. We apparently live in a high termite area. I hope you can get rid of the little blighters. Esther. Guest guest
Esther- I am so glad you waited until you got home to eat the goodies too!! When I read your story the first time, I could not help but wonder what was doing at the market while you were off getting sick. I would have thought hours would be a long time to sit and wait at the market while you tried to get " unstuck. " Thanks for clearing up the image that was in my head **smile**! Guest guest
Hi , whats your story. And how come only 5 days! Are you also one of the very few who cannot have a band? Have you looked into other things, and if so, what? Esther PS Sorry about the 20 questions, but I am interested.
Guest guest
You are probably the only one left who hasn't heard my story......The surgeon perforated my stomach and had to remove the band after 5 days.....was in ICU for 2 days, collapsed lung, phenomena, open op, and the list goes on ( I can truly say that I was lucky I survived ,,with out being to dramatic ) I still have a sore lung and a hernia the size of a rock melon ( due to the op ) and to top it of have gained a few more kilos. As to what I am going to do, Don't Know !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Esther Van Houten wrote: Hi , whats your story. And how come only 5 days! Are you also one of the very few who cannot have a band? Guest guest
, how horrible for you. I am glad you survived it all. Stupid question. Are you able to go back for a second try (perhaps using a different surgeon) or is it a case of once bitten twice shy? Your story does however bring things a little more into perspective. At least I did have one good band and I did lose 37 kgs, although I think my battle has just begun. Keep in touch. Esther

Guest guest
, the attachment is not sent with your emails every time, but it is called 'att.htm'...so I'd say it's a virus....you might need to have your computer checked. Maybe start out looking in your signature thingy in outlook express Geri RE: Esther > > > > > > > > Hi Grace, it is the other problems that I have, mainly dismotility and > > stasis that they feel would stay with me, even if I had bypass. Guest guest
I am so pleased that you have now found out what the problem is - what a relief. I thinkyou seem to be on the right track now - seeing your surgeon once per month and having very small fills. I for one can only tolerate small fills otherwise i vomit and when flluid is removed it needs to be a very small amount as then if it is too much i can eat everything and anything. good luck and let us know how you are going hally
